I read that some children do tend to drink coffee at night. So they would stay awake all night and feel asleep when in they are in school. i think the age of those kids are about 8 or less than that maybe. so i wonder if it is safe to let those kids to drink coffee. but there are so many caffeine drink besides the hot coffee at home. there are some canned cold coffee sold in groceries. the ones with flavor. and i think even sodas do contain some caffeine. so i think that we should not allow those kids to drink coffee or any thing that has caffeine .

I think kids should not be allowed to drink coffee at night...in fact, i think they should not be allowed to drink at all. Especially kids as young as 8. Firstly, there is no need for them to do so as their school work is not as hectic as college or teenagers thus they don't have to stay up late at night. Secondly, kids that young should not be allowed to drink coffee is because its very unhealthy for them. Caffein are not made for kids.

I don't think that children should drink coffee at all, as it can be addictive and have effects on their moods which might make their behaviour hard to control. Children should drink either milk or water at night, as they need to be able to keep hydrated but without being woken up, as you will want them to go to bed soon if it is in the evening. I don't think that my children will be allowed coffee at all because I don't even allow it into my house. I allow tea, as that is not as much caffeine, but there is no reason to allow coffee into the bloodstreams of our children.

No extra addiction for children please. - Already too many distraction for children nowsdays
Of course children should be allowed to drink coffee , because they may addicted to it , like addicted to sweet , playstation , facebook and such. All this distraction will cause them to be lazy , not do homework and stay up late and not concentrate on their studies. All this distraction should be mininum and controlled if possible. Best drink are original juice , lukewarm water and milk with reduced sugar.

I think it is ou good to drink coffee during night time because it is the time for their studies and if they drink them they cannot propely do their studies. There is no problem for a small kid to drink it because he doesn't have much responsibilities.

Children aged 8 or less shouldn't be having caffeine at all I don't think. They are hyper enough as it is without all that extra in coffee to make them even more so. At that age as well I wouldn't think it is good for their development. There are so many bad and artificial products these days as well it's hard to know what to give to children and what not to which is sad. My question is how in the world are the children getting their hands on coffee at that age? Where are the parents to supervise what the yare eating and drinking? If they are the culprits giving their children caffeine then shame on them!

I am a big coffee drinker...but i think it is not good to allow children who is 8 years old drink coffee. Children don't need to stay up late for studying also. They can so study in daytime and if they can, study till 10 pm and then go to sleep. When i was a kid, i just did sleeping, eating, playing and studying in school only. I didn't spend much time for studying at home. But nowadays...what i see in here...children often study whole day and no time for playing more...poor them!!!

Caffeine can make the heart pump faster then it need to or it could do nothing to you. I wouldn't give my children at any age unless they where 16 and up coffee if they want it but not at night time so they can stay up all night. Sleep is need for school and this is why a lot of places have gone to making sure that upper age schools start school later in the day so that they can get more sleep since younger kids don't seem to need as much to make it throw a school a day.

Hi hotsummer! I think, chocolate bars is better than coffee for kids. We can see in their labels, that some chocolate bars has little caffeine while there are those coffee that are pre-mixed, which are so concentrated, which, I bet there's a lot of caffeine in it. I, for one, palpitate when I drink 2 or more cups a day. And what more, I think, to kids which can have the same heart-racing effect in drinking coffee or anything that has high caffeine. I believe, anything that is in excess is bad to our health and to kids as well. Be well. Thanks

I don't give my sons caffeine no. Especially at night. Once in a while when my son needs to wake up for his morning meeting with his teacher as he is home schooled I will make him a cup of coffee with lot's of creamer as he likes the different flavors like cinnamon bun. Or if he has an important test in the morning I give him coffee or tea. But no, it's not good for their growth and they have way too much energy the way it is, I would never get them to sleep at night if I gave them anything like that. They get no soda at all and usually they drink sugar free drink mixes, milk, iced tea and carbonated flavored water.

We shouldn't not allow our kids to drink coffee at night it is not good for them especially this would cause an alertness that would make them awake all night. This attitude would really affect on their studies especially during school days that may let them fell asleep in the class. So Moms please dont let your kids drink coffee at night, instead give them a glass of milk before sleep.
