Delegation 101

"Is it okay?" One of our supervisors asked. I think it is okay. I felt bad though about how things were delegated in my previous work but it helped me from who I am now at work. I did mentioned before that I was a part of a team composed of subject matter experts. This is also important in the production area. I did a lot of stuff starting form barging representatives and instant coaching and some extra tasks like updating the team with the latest troubleshooting steps and how to manage their calls effectively. Some of my colleagues before finds it tiring. Even I do, like, why do I have to do the supervisor's job without any pay at all? At first I find it doing for fun since I won't going to take more calls than I have to in a day. LOLS. Until workload starts to pile up. I was able to cope up for two years with it as I found out something better than being logged out and not taking more calls in production. This is to stand up in a team in which they need my help as much as supervisors does. You can't blame them how they toss workloads to us whereas they're also being paid, except that THEY'RE not Gods as what others are thinking. And so I have a good supervisor/ mentor relationship with my previous team leader before I resign due to the fumes of management wars and such. He still has good communication with me as we keep on updating each others as well. The team that I have worked with, no matter how far I am from them right now; they still can't forget the supcalls that I took and how helpful it was been for us as I help them and they help me by performing. Love the job and the job will love you back. To do so; you need to delegate sometime if you can't handle everything alone. Admit it, we can't be superhumans sometimes at work.

Funny you mention this I work in a call center and I was talking to my boss about delegation. He says he has a book at home I need to read to learn how to do this. I love my job and sometimes its hard to hand off parts of it.
