The most important lessons that I've learned in life so far are: Love yourself before others so that you will not feel too much pain when other hurt you. Treat everyone equally because all of us has one creator and living in the same world. Don't ever jugde a person based on his appearance because you might ge supprised if you know his abilities and capabilities. Life is too short so make it more wonderful and meaningful everyday.

I do agree and fully endorse all the things that you have jotted down here. It is most important in life to keep family first, and people next. One cannot fully trust outside people. They do have their own selfish interests, at times against our family. Trust them, but to some extent only. Secondly, I have learnt that one must be very careful in financial matters. Sometimes, an honest looking Investment advisor, or an insurance agent etc could be deceptive and may cause more harm and grief than not having such advisors. Another lesson is that health is of utmost importance. Spending a bit more on health is better than having more luxuries in life. We might be super-rich, but he or she who does not have good health is not living a worthwhile life. Also, one must think before uttering words to someone, because once a word is said, it cannot be taken back. And one must always be willing to learn more things in life.

Well, the most important lesson I have learned so far is learn to accept and appreciate all you have right now. Acceptance is very important. We should learn to accept and appreciate things we have. We should also know our limitations and never try to push a thing that is very impossible to have or you end up with frustrations. From then on, I learn to live each day as it is and never look or ask for too much. I learn to accept my life and loving it.

hmm... the lesson I would treasure and will not for get is to trust yourself more than anyone. Because it is your life, the decisions you made will be your life and it is not all the time that the people you learn to appreciate will always be there for you because they too have a life to run. I am simply saying that you have to learn to be independent, to be able to stand strong when all fails.

Thanks to my ex I now don't have a lot of trust in people anymore. I was never automatically a trusting person but after being with someone a few years you build a trust and you stick with them and believe in them only to be screwed over. So I have an harder time putting trust in people now :(

Very interesting question my friend.Life has taught me a lot of lessons and your discussion gives me the scope to reflect on them and jot them down.First of all I am "once bitten, twice shy".I make sure never to repeat something that has caused me trouble in the past.I have learned that there can be a lot of friends in one's life but only one best friend (in my case it is my boyfriend). We should not endow our complete trust on anyone but keep our eyes and ears open.It is good to listen to one's parents since most of the times the advice they give is helpful and if not followed can land us in trouble. We should love our parents since they nurtured us and always worry about us.No one can take a greater position than one's own mother. She is the true living God.It is important to be determined to achieve your goals or else none of your dreams can be fulfilled. We should not be dishonest, cheat or lie to people who care for us.We should not try to cause real harm to others since it can come back to us in a number of ways.Last of all 'prevention is better than cure' and 'Health is Wealth'!

Ive learned to trust myself more than anybody or anything in the world. At the end of the day, there's only one person you can trust your life with -- and that's noone else but yourself. There may occasionally be a few people, loved ones who stick around and you can rely on for some cases, but I just believe that its yourself whom you can turn to 101%, when the going gets tough.

Trust is a two way street. Trust your gut, even if it ends up being wrong its better to go with it. (because the times I didn't, I was hurt more than ever.....) Love is not enough in marriage, you need commitment, which is why we get married in the first place I think. Life is fleeting, and make use of the time you have. There are many more as well...but those are some.
