when you were looking for discussions to participate, does the reputation of the member interfers on the participation of the community? a mean, this is an hipotetical situation, do you prefer to participate on a discussion made by someone who has (for example) more than 1000 next to the avatar? would this happened? does you feel more comfortable or confident? have a nice day

Nope, I just look into topic itself. It doesn't matter member who open that discussion had 1 star or 10, if discussion itself had interesting topic I will involved (as long I'm not busy offline).

I can't even notice their number of post nor check their profiles before responding. When I know I can say something to that discussion, I respond to it. I respond not because they have thousands of posts already but because I have something to say on their discussion.

I think i also do not post because a person posted thousand or two thousand discussions or one lakh discussions. I respond to the discussions on the person's reputation of posting various discussions like if they post good responses and comments.

Hi alilin28, No, the reputation of the member does not matter for me. Whether I enter into a discussion will depend on the topic or subject matter. If I feel like it's something I can contribute then I will proceed. Sometimes I may find the topic interesting but if I don't know much about it I will give it a miss. By just reading the discussions I will learn something. Have a nice day.

No, I participate and respond in very discussion not because of the reputation it is because I liked the topic and i am interested to the topic. For me reputation is just a number who can ups and down depends on participations but when I am responding to the discussion I always considering the content of the topic and the lesson that I learned.

If you ask me, i don't even see any numbers next to his avatar. I mean that is not the criteria i'm looking at. I look at how can i response to a certain discussion. The topics, the content of what i am going to put out. That is vital. Hence the slow earnings cause i can't see myself posting or responding aimlessly. As i am new, i don't know who is considered a veteran or high reputation members of the site. So since you've mention the numbers at the side of the avatar, now i know what it means. I also would say, those with high numbers are the most active ones posting and responding to discussions.

I just simply look at the topic and the discussion. The reputation is not very important. If the discussion is interesting, I'll join it.

I tend to look at the topic, myself. The posters reputation doesn't really have any bearing on whether it's a topic I'm interested in, knowledgeable of, etc -- those are the types of topics I look for to respond to, things that spark something to say. I guess there might be people who search by reputation, but I imagine they'd miss out on some interesting topics in doing that.

I answer the discussions that I am interested in. But I like it to be a discussion so if I see that the person has not answered anyone for more than a week than I will be less likely to respond even if it interests me. The reputation makes no difference to me though. We all had to start at some point so if we all did that the poor newbie's would be ignored and Mylot would not be as nice...

I admired people who have a great reputation here in myLot and specially those who have 1000 or more next to their avatar, however when i participate in discussions it doesn't matter who created it as long as it looks interesting and would like to participate. Have a lovely day!

Hi alilin, when doing mylotting I do not necessary look at names or numbers ...I look for discussions which interest me and ones that I can respond either with knowledge or experience. Things that I am not familiar I do not repond regardless who posted it or what numbers are beside the names....

No i dont feel that a member's reputation should affect anyone for participating in a discussion. This is because if the discussion is very much relevant then everyone gets attracted towards it regardless of whether that person has spent more time on MyLot or not.

I looked at the discussions not at the people making them. It makes no difference for me whether the person has high or low reputation since reputation here is not in all accurate. A person making a politically correct response may get higher reputation due to majority of mylotter supporting him but that does not mean anything since the minority view may also be valid. Just my opinion though

If I say you are a good participator then does it mean? It means I have the same ability to assess you as a good participator. So the reputation is not any possession of a certain user, rather reputation applies for the whole mylot community.

I don't particularly care for reputation; Honestly, I don't even know how to assess the reputations of the members. I was too lazy to fully comprehend the terms or guidelines. lol. But I do agree with the rest of the comments above. I look at the subject at hand and see if I have something to say to that. If none, then move on to the next discussion. :) btw, rated everyone a positive! mwah! :D

I think that member's reputation does play a part in participating in various discussions. I think the thing that makes one respond to various discussions is how the mylotter respond to various discussion and also how they reply. I always like to respond to discussions in which the person who started would respond to it or comment to it.

No it doesn't, if the topic for me is interesting and I can say something or share something, why not, even if I have to go on with an off topic statement

Hi friend, i don't give importance to the reputation and post score in mylot. I just give importance to the topic, if the topic is good and interesting i will place my reply to it. Most of the time i am posting my replies to some good topics which is created by newbies

I read the hole discussion, and it seems that members doesnt put attention on the number of discussions you´ve replied or similars. I´m new here, so I think I must learn a lot of thinks.I realized that most people that replied on your discussion thought that it wont be appropiated to do this, you have to look at the post and see if you are interested in,that´s right? unless that was the impression they gave to me. Thanks for let me answer.
