It happens almost every time whenever i visit a supermarket that i end up purchasing extra things just because of special offers,or lured by displays.I sometime feel that marketing has induced an artificial buying need and we are addicted to consumerism .What you say?

i am always doing that too. i often come across a sale that has something i can use or put away (freeze or just store) that will be good at a later time. i don't know about what you are saying but i suppose its true. i think the media have a lot to do with it and i don't think just grocery stores are too blame either.

I am very bad for doing this, and it often ends up that I spend a lot more money than I was planning on doing. But a lot of the time, I will see things that are on offer, and I think that if I don't pick them up now they might not be on the same offer the next time that I choose to go to the store. So I end up stocking up on things which I suppose would save me a little money in the long term. But I always put things in the basket when I am at the checkout as well as I decide that I should treat myself to a chocolate bar. This is something that I really am working on cutting down on, as I think that I would be able to save a lot of money (and calories) if I could stop doing this.

I maybe lured by those displays of special offers but only in my eyes not in my pocket because I only tend to buy what I am supposed to buy.I do not wanted to be ashame when going to the counter with my pockets worth is only limited to what I wanted to buy.

That's so true. Supermarkets sure know how they should place their things, displays and captions about price reduction. Whether it's bargain cookies, bargain costume jewellery, sweets, I usually throw something in.

I think you should go inside the supermarket when your stomach is full to void yourself from picking up extra things. Make a grocery list and follow it strictly to save money and you can only get what you needs.

Most of us go to super markets to buy important things, but after entering in to the shop, we are impressed with some new items there and wish to purchase them. Some of us have budgets for our purchase and try our maximum to purchase the things within our budget. But while visiting the shop, we forget about this budget and wish to buy some new things which attracts us. Most of the time our shopping expenses are high compared to our budget due to this kind of extra items. Shops gives some offers to some items and we are interested in that offer ans wish the purchase the product to grab the offer, even though it is not in our shopping list. If we take our kids to the shopping mall, they will ask new kind of chocolates, biscuits and other eatables, it is really hard to convince them without purchasing the item. Most of the shops allows us to use our credit and debit card for our shopping. By this way, we don't worry about the cash and use our cards for the extra bill. But we must try our maximum to control this kind of fascinating activities and purchase only the needy things which is essential for us. It will help us to save some money and reduce our shopping bill.
