Sometimes I HATE The Internet..

...especially when I can't do something on it lol. Take earlier today for instance. I checked my emails like I usually do and in my inbox was a job from one of those web-testing sites I have mentioned previously. I clicked on the link and it took me straight to the site. I qualified for the test because there wasn't a profile to meet in this particular case. "Brilliant!" I thought. Er, not so brilliant as it turned out. For starters, my headset/microphone combo wasn't recognised by the software so I had to reconfigure it via my Control Panel. By the time I'd sorted it out the job had been automatically given to someone else in the "queue" as it had taken me over 15 minutes! To say I was frustrated is an understatement. Oh, well, here's hoping another job will come through that I qualify for. Does the internet frustrate you at times..and why?

Yeah, I get frustrated at times, when the connection's slow. I'm now workin' for 3, which is based in your country. We get calls from people, who see the network intact and yet they have problems with connections. We trouble-shoot the issue... I've spoken with many guys who get irritated easily, coz of slow connection. I guess this has become kind of a nusaince for many of us... By the way, I really love the UK english, but the pronounciations are so different.. I'm used to American version of this language. They roll their 'r's. You guys don't even pronounce 'r' when its not at the beginning of the word. I'd so many problems adjusting with it earlier, now I'm quite fine... :-)

Yes Janey... I changed my job, due to management and salary issues. No dear, 3 isn't a part of airlines. I've had a bad time understanding the British way of pronouncing... LOL... They used laugh at me during training days, because of the way I spoke... LOL... I'm learning though. Guess, in a few months, I'll have learned it all... :-)

Did you used to work for an airline at one time? Have you changed jobs my friend or is 3 part of the same..er..job? You're quite right about the rolling of the r's thing. Yanks are quite nasally as well, especially the women. I did read why that is but I can't remember lol.

Personally, they seem to make a fool of people. If someone can't finish something whin the fixed time, they may let an opportunity of job slip.Perhaps you didn't know that much about their rule at the start.you will soon have it at your finger tips.

As long as I'm using internet explorer, I don't have problems on the site in question, on that browser, funnily enough. It's happening more and more; having to change browsers in order for certain functions to work properly. But, at least I have a choice, otherwise I'd be more frustrated than I am already!

That is to say,you need to install more than one browsers for a possible period of need.I installed a Firefox brower before.I uninstalled it later in case it should take up my computer memory place. As far as I am concerned, one browser enough, namely windows Internet explorer.

Mine is out of date. It is frequently in freeze mode, never mind having 5 browsers in it.

I do get frustrated sometimes. It seems like there are days when things creep. I have a high speed connection through the cable company but I still think it gets bogged down sometimes.

Even MyLot isn't working properly for me today which is weird because the Americans on here reckoned it was fine some time ago. I was in bed then lol. I do know about the weather conditions though.

It does! There is this one big company that I've been trying to get into. It's so hard to qualify into one of their available jobs yet I keep getting notifications of the same thing. I know that it's just a filter that I or they need to sort out, but it just gets frustrating when you get your inbox full of 'possible' opportunities, yet you know you couldn't really do anything about it.

The internet does frustrate me at times. I hate it when a site does not work properly that I am really in the mood to be on. I also hate when the speed goes down, stupid CableVision. But things do happen. I have had to stop what I was doing because of a site either acting slow or erratic, so I would get frustrated and log off and go do something else.

Apparently, the official London Olympics website crashed today because 2 million people were trying to buy the last remaining tickets, all at the same time. Now, THAT'S frustrating. It's better watching it on the goggle-box!

I hear what you're saying. That is frustrating. And would would thing that the website would have some kind of system where all those people cannot log in all at the same time. I did not watch the Olympics, but I see what you mean. I would rather watch a baseball game on TV then go get high priced tickets to go to the stadium.

hehehe, i don't hate the internet at all, just hate the internet connection sometime when the internet is interrupted. Luckily my internet connection is very good this time so that i am very happy when i can connect to the internet any time with fast speed. For sure, i can't do anything if i can't connect to the internet when i sit in front of the computer...

Yes, I remember being on my previous computer on the old dial-up system. It would take an age for some sites to load. I guess we take broadband for granted now as loads of photographs are loaded miles quicker than they used to - and the sites are bigger as a consequence!

Yeah, when things that should take no time at all get hung up. When mysteriously the search tool bar I use blocks my uploading of other things. Now that you have reconfigured it should work right the next time, correct?

Yes, but I have to remember to go into internet explorer rather than any other browser I use. I did this earlier and got through my first (hopefully) paid test. I was able to play the video back and it worked fine I'm pleased to say. If I do get paid from this you will be the first to know!

Hi Janey... Well computers can be the most frustrating things known to man.. Well this man anyway! I do surveys too and I couldn't believe that I survey said to take 20 minutes said they were "sorry, but I had not met the criteria after me sitting there for 18 minutes. I really wish some of these survey sites would weed out some of the companies that think they can get your information and then not pay what they promised. It's happened before, so I guess I either quit with them or accept that I may be wasting my time... As for some software.. I have really gotten into the habit of saving my work often, but there are exceptions when I forget and a crash can lose hours of work where I have to start all over from square one! My computer knows how to wind me up I think. I wonder if Data (Star Trek) would be so annoying to Picard.. _Derek

Haha! How I love that character of Data. Mind you, Worf was the best; I loved his deep voice and the fact he wasn't very good with women, but tried anyway lol. Yes, I've stopped taking surveys for the reason you describe. It has happened to me many times. Gone through the motions and right at the end "Sorry, but you do not qualify on this occasion." Grrrr! Demographics weren't an issue, thankfully, on the latest task I did for the web-testing. I made sure I was using internet explorer so the voice recognition worked perfectly. I tend to use Firefox so I'm annoyed that it doesn't work properly on there.

It probably isn't the internet's fault as it was a hardware/software problem. Anyway, I don't hate the internet, I just hate slow internet connection and slow and problematic computers.

I really should delete my cookies periodically as well. The speed is OK at the moment but it will slow down eventually if I don't sort the cookies out!

I always hate it when the internet isn't working properly when it is going a little bit slow. I think that it is a little bit scary the way that we all rely on the internet, because if you think about it we all do actually run the majority of our lives online, and this can mean that if we don't have it then we are not actually able to do anything that we would normally want to do. I am trying to stop using it quite so much because I hate being dependent on one machine, and I don't know what I would do right now if my laptop were to break for some reason.

Yes, it's like the Natwest, RBS fiasco with their new software update isn't it? No-one can access their accounts because of it. Scary stuff!

That was happened with me too, sometimes i feel frustrate with internet. When my goal didn't work as my target i feel bored and get frustrate. But now i understand about that sign.First, i have to take a break for internet, just one or two days.Second i have to learn from the expert about the tips and how to.Believe me that many peoples feel like that sometimes.Prepare your self as well as you can.

Yes, it is easy to become frustrated and you do the right thing, taking a break and coming back to it. Good advice! Because I don't give up I've realised that - if I'm using internet explorer rather than any other browser - the voice recognition works properly and I don't have any problems. It's just a case of remembering to use it as opposed to Firefox, my browser of choice usually.

Internet frustrated me when I come online to do something, and I end watching videos on youtube or doing something else, I don't know why I can't focus in what I really need to do, It also frustrates me when I can't figure how to do something so I get stuck in a simple task.

Yes, it is very easy to become distracted on the internet. I have wasted many hours going from one website to another instead of focusing on just the one although it is good discovering new ones now and again.

haha, the internet also frustrate me at times. I still remember my professor asked me to do a figure for her, I was working on the internet carefully, but after I finished the figure and wanted to email her, the internet connection was cut off. I was too angry. That's too bad.

How extremely annoying that must have been for you, my friend. How long were you working for your professor before you needed to send the email to her? I hope it wasn't a long time.
