Hi lotters and friends I returned from my health checkup a few days back and the reports have worsened. I am not worried about this worsening thing as I have been mentally preparing myself for the worsening of my Ulcerative Colitis issue. Unfortunately, now I have one more added ailment (Ghosh! I have already had UC, Rheumatoid Arthritis) and now they have reports which confirm I have Stones in Gall Bladder and there is pain(I believe I am soon going to turn into a package of ailments). What has made me worried is the fact that the doctors had been telling me that if I stayed under medication, the only thing that would worsen is the UC thing and no other ailment would be infecting me. And this years diagnosis proves them wrong. The worst part at the moment is - They have asked me to stop eating anything that I like - yeah, no chocos, no coffee, no chicken, no chowmein(noodles)....(an endless list) and the number of medicines has increased to 10 tabs and 3 capsules + 2 syrups.... (guess that is all I should have for my lunch, dinner and even breakfast) And surprisingly there is NO medicine for either healing the stones in the Gall Bladder or even reducing the pain... I am confused and I believe so is my doctor. Anyways, the issue to discuss is - Have you been into any such situation where you were expecting something else to happen and something different happened? How did you handle such situation! Have a good health. theSids.

Hi Sid , I read your post earlier and now I got time to respond. I experience how would you feel as I am now caring a person who has complaints when one goes other comes. She is my MIL. I believe you will get cure through Homeopathy. Right now for your gall stones, if you are interested I would suggest you medicine. It will surely give you relief. Other than that just avoid some foods, very simple it is . Only you have to avoid rich foods, which takes some time to digest. Simple foods are good until you are cured from it.

hi doc I am glad you found time for this one. A patient of yours already... I already remember that I have to mention you on my will I hope a PM from you my dear one. Professor sir had also called me up a few minutes back and suggested to take homeopathy. And you are the one we both know and there was also a mention of some black dal(pulses). As for foods, you know my UC doesnt permit me a lot of those "rich foods" and I am already quite weak

I received a forwarded email that had suggested a precise method to get rid of gallbladder stones and it was on consumption of apple and something else and a continuous systematic process. We are forbidden from posting forwarded mails here.Otherwise I would have posted it here.I had sent you a message long back requesting your mail ID; I felt you were not too comfortable sharing your mail id and therefore did not respond and left it at that. But now I am not too sure whether you had received it.If you had not and are comfortable sharing your mail ID do send it to me on a p.m. I shall forward the mail to you.

I was wondering that my message had not got sent. Does not matter you had forgotten to respond; these things happen when one is not well.I am sure Viji will but the mail I had read suggested a natural remedy nd I don't care if my response gets deleted. You just be quick and copy it in your word doc. For the first five days, take four glasses of apple juice every day. Or eat four or five apples, whichever you prefer. Apple juice softens the gallstones. During the five days, eat normally. 2. On the sixth day, take no dinner. 3. At 6 PM, take a teaspoon of Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) with a glass of warm water. 4. At 8 PM, repeat the same. Magnesium sulphate opens the gallbladder ducts. 5. At 10 PM, take half cup olive oil (or sesame oil) with half cup fresh lemon juice. Mix it well and drink it. The oil lubricates the stones to ease their passage. PS. 1cup=250ml, ? cup lemon juice=3 lemons (approx.) The next morning, you will find green stones in your stools. "Usually they float," Chiu Nan notes. "You might want to count them. I have had people who passed 40, 50 or up to 100 stones. Very many." "Even if you don't have any symptoms of gallstones, you still might have some. It's always good to give your gall bladder a clean-up now and then.

Dear Kalav First, I apologize for not responding to your PM. I had seen and read that email. And as I was a little unwell, it slipped off my mind and I assumed I responded to it. I also mentioned it on one of your responses to my discussions but after reading your response here, I went back to check and found I didnt actually respond to it. Sorry again. I think Homeopathy has some medicines for stones. dad had stones in kidney, allopathy wanted a surgery but he was cured by homeopathy. Mom has asked me to consult some homeopathy doctors. I would wait for Doc. Viji to appear or I will PM her. You know she is a homeopath but now a days she says she doesnt practice. But she can definitely provide some useful inputs.

Hi jazel This is one reason I didnt want to share this discussion with a select people, but then I thought as we are all friends, you people should be aware. Please dont feel bad. I am sure that once a while those chocos or coffee will have not many ill effects on me. I have promised my wife that I will restrain my eating habits until September when they will make me undergo all those tests again. If the results will be good for me, I might stop eating them (and follow the advice of doctors to the word) and if not... ya know me I am impatient and keeping me restricted is quite daunting for me specially when I am all alone

sids, Ulcerative Colitis How long you have been taken pain reliever due to this ailment? I am not a doctor nor into medicine course, but my doctor tells me "always/never" take pain reliever that much (paracetamol included) for those meds are known for it's side effect damaging our kidney. Soon the kidney starts to work improper there occurs the gall stone problem. Maybe you can do more research on this and so with the medicines that you are taking for meds. I am sure you can still eat those foods in moderation :)

Hi di I too refrain from pain killers as I have felt that the only good they do is make you fall asleep for more hours - If you remember last year sometime in May I was sleeping for 18+ hours per day for one month and that was because of those horrible pain killers which the doctor had suggested to heal internal inflammations due to the UC. No, my current tests and the complication say that the inflammations have increased and so I guess I have to stay away from everything I love to eat for at least next 3 months. That is when they will do fresh tests. and until then... it should be a medical diet and the add ons (desserts or starters) would be those horrible tasting medicines... I wonder why they didnt have anything(medicines) to be eaten in between the food

I don't exactly believe in a God (or God, singular), but I sort of see what you're trying to say. Whether or not God exists, life is always meant to be an obstacle course, but you'll always get through.

I am happy to have these illnesses and this post wasnt a complain against them. I always say and believe that I am lucky I had these ailments. Though there are many positives that I have started to see in my being ill, I will be insinterpreted if I go along mentioning all here. Whether I get through or not - Medical Science DOES NOT have any cure for any of the ailments I have - Ulcerative Colitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis of even the Gall Bladder stones. All of their treatment are mere preventions - NOT cures.

Hi sids, Hi sids, Though i loved to see you back here but even i did not expect to be in this way. I thought again you will ask us chocos and coffees and it seems now also worried more about chocos and less about health.… I think you should be asking a second opinion from some other doctor because after all allopathy claims to have medicines for all the pains. These days I am trying to forget about the medicines/syrup and diet as at home my husband had jaundice and my daughter had viral fever and I too was down a while with hi fever and body ache….which we are all recovering one by one. For more than 20 days – its too hectic for me….not in a mood to discuss more sickness…take care dear.

Hi viju No way. This discussion is just to share with you all what has happened in the past 10 days. And you know me... I am quite hopeful that the restrictions would be only for a few days (doctors have said a re-test in September) and that seems quite far right now. So I might hop back onto what I love to eat sooner. Allopathy makes tall claims - yes and doctors play with the patients - have you ever found an allopath doctor who would give you the right medicine at the first go and you would get cured? I was listening to the Gyan Vani FM channel and once they were discussing How doctors are made/awarded their certificates - They all work on ifs and buts nothing about medicine. I have that discussion noted down and I have promised myself - my kid whenever I have one, will never become a doctor. I will write that in my will too

Sid and Viji! All doctors are not bad. Nowadays we tend to lose faith in them because of the umpteen tests suggested. Specialists are really terrible and family doctors would be much better; just a basic qualification in Medicine and plenty of application of mind is what is called for.Allopathy always looks at symptoms and cures the disease but allopathic medicine has its side effects. What to do! When there is an emergency it is always best to get back to allopathy isn't it? Only for chronic ailments we can try out alternative medicine.

Hi Bhai. (about to cry) I'm so sorry. I wish there were better news. You don';t deserve this! Just know I'm here Whenever you need to talk or vent. The one thing I do know about is the gall badder stones. They have to naturally pass. There isn't any meds for it. Are you with Bahu? Please tell me you are not alone! As for the food, is this because of the stones or the other aliments? If it is because of the stones then it will soon pass. If not? I have no words. The difference between us is you are hopeful, Always hopeful. Don't change. ( crying) Just know I love you and I'm here for you.

Hi behen I have no issues with me having all these ailments, on the other hand I am happy and thankful to lord to have chosen me for this. Right now, I am more low only because this new addition came as a shocker to me. And I do believe as days pass, I will adjust with it too. The prescribed diets are to control the Ulcerative colitis and right now, the doctors have nothing for me on the issue of Gall Bladder Stones.

Like you I have gallstones and the doctor discovered them by coincidence. I had different kinds of symptoms. I was feeling awful, I was extremely tired and I was yellow in my face and my doctor thought that I needed an ultrasound and some blood tests since the problems with be have something to do with my liver. The tests showed that I had mononucleosis and the untrasound showed that I had gallstones. They didn't look for the gallstones, because I have never experienced any pain, and they discovered the gallstones when they were looking for something else. I was shocked to find out that I had gallstones I wasn't expecting that at all since I have never experienced any pain from that part of my body. That happened 4 years ago, and I didn't have surgery and I still didn't experience any symptoms, but I watch my diet and avoid certain kinds of food.

I had my gallbladder removed with surgery many years ago. Nowadays surery is not so difficult as it was before. I remember that before surgery the pain was terrible, but after surgery I was with a diet for some months and now I can eat all I want. This has nothing to do with your ulcerative colitis and it can be healed.

Hi Sid. I know of some people who'd had worst ailments but they are able to survive the health trials. The food prohibitions are minor. Anyone can live without those types of food. What is important is for you to be better and the best way to do this is to eat healthy and live healthy. No more hanky panky. LOL

Hi cutie I agree with you dear that there are many who have been living well and much better than many others with their ailments. To be honest, I too was feeling healthier years after they had said I had Ulcerative Colitis. Last year was quite good for me and I was going good mentally strengthened. during the past so many years - since I have been told that UC might worsen into cancer of colon and they might remove the colon completely, I was mentally preparing myself. However the addition to my ailments - the Gall Bladder stones - has had a negative effect on me - maybe coz it is fresh right now. I think I will have to agree and restrict myself to the medical diets prescribed, but then, it tastes horrible - only salt kind of with almost nothing of my liking... Hope that I start getting used to this tastes soon

Hi Bro I am too weak in understanding those hard words... But hope you will be okay soon. About such unexpected thing, it was happened with my uncle. He was feeling too uncomfortable so we took him to the doctor. He measure the BP and it was too high. So he told us that it was heart related problem, and we immediately move to city for check up.. In the end after a week checkup, we came to know that it was something related to gas problem.. Doctor said that sometime this kind of problem can affect you badly.

hello sid, i see most of the mylotter friends have suggested many different things to help you out. as far as i know, medicines can dissolve only small stones and if you have big sized one, then you have to go for a surgical procedure. i know its really hard to accept thing when you are certainly not prepared for it and believe me my friend you are not alone in this. it isn't necessary that life always give us back the same that we expect. most of the time we have to face something that we never expected. i know you are strong enough and you will come over it pretty soon

Hi khare Doc, I was told about this keyhole surgery a few minutes ago by professor sir who had called up after reading this discussion. I had found something on the net by the name Laproscopy. I am finding more about these but would still prefer to live without having to undergo the knife. I already have had many experiments on me with the kine (not medical surgery of course) but today, I am more scared. Thanks for the encouraging words about me being strong. Maybe you are right and I will get over this feeling in a couple of days. You know I cannot keep stressing myself and my little small brain on anything for long

sid you will be fine and you can try on alternative remedies that people have told you in above boxes. who knows if it works for you. there is no harm in trying. and laproscopy is minimal invasive technique and you would not be under a huge knife for long. i have one of my aunt who was operated for the same a few years back and now she is perfectly fine. and you would be fine too even without a huge scar. (i wanted to use a smiley but wasn't sure which one will suit the most so i chose this one.)

Hello sids- I have gone through this surgery of removing gall bladder in 2010. I preferred one hole operation through belly button which leaves no mark and is almost no cut. This is insertion of their apparatus through that small cut and take the GB out. No pain nothing you get out of hospital in about 20 hours staying overnight. They lock the joint with metallic clips. The only problem I faced later was at airports, because while they scan you the beep sound makes security suspicious. Although you can go for many hole surgery but because the number of cuts it takes a few extra days on bed. I am having no problem for almost 22 months since I have gone through the surgery neither have I stopped eating any thing. I am eating whatever, how ever I used to eat. I wish you a speedy recovery from all your problems.

Hi praaji That is some news to me. As the doctors I consulted here and even at hyderabad said that there will be restrictions on diet for long. Also, as I mentioned above on a response, they said it will be a three hole laproscopy. Now getting rid of a part is something that I havent favored. This is why I am still suffering from Ulcerative Colitis as I rejected the doctors recomendation to remove the unhealed and infected part of the large intestine. But your response does raise hopes for me. I am going to have homeopathy medicine as I still have time until September when they redo the tests and find out what best can be done.

Well, I once expected to get a diagnosis that would fix a symptom I had, a symptom that is devastaing for a female. I thought as soon as they knew what it was, they could fix it. Well, they found out what it was, but that symptom could not be reversed and I was crushed. I'm so sorry to hear about the rheumatoid arthritis. My cousin has that and she says it's so painful.

When the doctors told you the medication would be enough and you would only have to worry about your UC, did they mention any possible side effects of the medicine? Did they tell you to make lifestyle changes? Did you read about your condition and what things you might be able to do that would help you remain healthy? There are no guarantees, so I think maybe you misunderstood what the doctors said.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear about all of the health ailments that you are having to deal with. It is clear that the doctors have lied to you and for that reason I think that if I was you, I would start to look for a new doctor. The reason for that is that just because you are on medications for one ailment doesn't mean that you will never be hit by another ailment. In addition to that, if the gallstones get to be too much for you to deal with, there is the possibility that you can have your gallbladder removed.
