Yesterday i was to the bank to deposit my savings in my personal account. I was on a long quee for two hours or more hours. At first i decided to put down my decision and i thought to deposit my money on another day but today was totally free and i did not want to spent another day for this purpose. I had my phone with me and i had activated the internet connection. I just was just surfing from the sites like mylot and facebook and i made my quee hour a wonderful one. Did you ever had a long quee experience? Did you ever had a wonderful quee hours? How did you made it? How do you deal with long quee Share your experiences

The longest time i get to wait is when i go pay bills, like in our water district office the line is quite long and also when going to the bank.. so i usually have a book with me so i could just read while waiting.

Hello the wonder boy- I go a step further- you see whenever I expect to wait for long hours I keep my netbook with me, this is easy to whatever I do sitting back home while waiting there sitting doing nothing else. I have done some important works this way and utilized my time in a proper way. That is one good way of making good og your waiting time, I liked your way.

I also love to do things on my netbook but queue are just unexpected. Sometimes there will be no people to rush with the things and sometimes a lot of them. The thing is that, if we are too lucky we get slipped from the queue easily. Did you have an such lucky incident ? What was it ?

I have never been that long in line. 15 to 20 mins is my max. When I am in line I people watch and sometimes start conversation with others around me. If I was in for two hours I'd have to bring a stool to sit on. Blessing to you.

I do get very uncomfortable when I am late. So if I have a thing to do that I cannot fortell the necessary time needed, I make sure that I leave more than enough time to finish what I am doing before I have something else to do, especially if others are depending on me. Because I often am early I always carry a book with me. I read a lot.

Fifteen or twenty minutes is quite adjustable. Here we people in Kerala used to wait about ten to fifteen minutes in railway station on most of the days and we people feel getting late is very common but I cannot really adjust with it. Don't you get really uncomfortable hen your plans are broken by the queues or rushes ? Did you had any broken plans ? Please share

Waiting in queue is never a fun experience for most of us. Not unless you have a lot of better things to do why waiting. For me, I always play with my cellphone or listen to the music with it. It gets boring if the queue is really long so I sometimes look around and find something to read like the posters nearby or then back to my phone.

I don't like to be in a long line of waiting persons. Usually , i would just go back at a time that i know has lesser people already. Though sometimes, i would bear it because it's important and has to be done that day. I would put on my earphone and listen to my favorite music.

Well my friend, i haven't ever experienced that yet. Though, i have experienced standing for a long time with my friends, seeing a live show of celebrities. I never experienced any pain, maybe because i was enjoying the show. And besides my friend, the style now at one of our banks , is you will choose an ATM like terminal where you will input your transactions from your account. Then, a paper with a number will come out after you are done with it. That is your service number, where a TV monitor will show what teller will be serving what number. So, you will just seat down and watch at the TV monitor if it is already your number that will be served. Cool!

Hello thewonderboy I usually have a book with me wherever I go, and when I encounter long line-ups, I simply whip it out and commence to reading. These days I have my Kindle Touch with me and I love it because I have such a variety of books with me from which to choose. The longest line-up in which I can remember waiting was way back in the 1970's. I was waiting in line at the Smithsonian Institute to see King Tut's mummy and other artifacts from his tomb. Our family and many friends went. We waited in line for something like 6 hours. Luckily, I had a book with me. I was sorry to see that your fried chicken discussion was deletted. It was a good discussion. Also, how is your hair? Peace

Well each of us has different life experiences and problems and now i am glad to tell you that i did not have a six hour long quee. Well, my hairs are getting a lot better. I user a cap when i used to go out. So i don't find any problem. So did you read the whole book from the quee? Don't you feel much tired when you stand for such a long time?

Well, I was a child during that long line-up, so I also made friends and played with the other children in the line-up as well as read. I don't remember if I finished the book. It was a very long time ago. I am so glad to hear that your hairs are getting better. This is great news! These days when I stand in the line-up for a long time, I find it exhausting. I usually will sit down if I am able.

Sitting down is much more better because it can help you from getting leg pain as well as tiredness.

Being or standing in a long quee could be quite distressing..an experience most of us would treat with dislike and contempt. But the order of things necessitates this inevitable practice everywhere . Why must one get impatient for waiting too long to reach his destination?

Hey sukumar794, Ten or thirty minutes is quite OK to stand simply with out any fun but How can I do stand alone for continuous two hours. I can't just cop up with it.

Hi Wonder, whenever i was in a queue, I will use my waiting time for sending message to my loved ones and friends as well. Sometimes, I will use it for playing some games on my cellphone. If i got bring along a magazine, I would use that time for reading. At least, I won’t feel bored waiting for my turn to come. Indeed it is very frustrating, if we don’t use our waiting for doing something that we enjoy.

I feel really bored when I stand on a place for a long time. I don't know how to manage it but still I found out some interesting things which can give me a lot of fun. I believe it's god who gives me such thoughts. Don't you think so ?

I do not have a smartphone. I have a normal one with FM. That does help when I am waiting for my turn anywhere. But then there are places where the FM wont work and then the best I can do is make friends and talk with others waiting. Until recently (I changed my bankers a few months back and so now I can do train reservations online) I had to get to the railway reservation counters and wait. The bank, I rarely visited as most of the transactions were done online or via ATM. So no waiting at the banks though

Anyway i was not much bored because of my lovely phone and it's service. Do you have some relatives or friends in the banking sections or in the other feilds to help you? Did they helpe you? How was the help?

Sometimes surfing internet becomes really boaring when we have a lot of disconnections during using them but during the queue i did not get any disconnections. I was just enjoying it at it's fullest.

hi, These days I don’t have to wait in Q for bank transactions as I have trained my daughter to do so. And she often deposits thru the machine and sometimes when the line is long, she deposits at the counter. I don’t have net on my cell so I try to talk to the other person or observe activities around me. The last time I was on line was during a group reservation for a train journey i.e. at the ticket counter. The most annoying line so far is the one at shopping mall's counters - you can see a lot of counters vacant and those with counter boys/girls will have long Qs as well. Good that you enjoyed your mylotting and fb from the bank.

Hi, My daughter is studying in X and so i feel she should start taking interest in such small jobs, which is, of course a great relief to me. I am not sure what future stream she will get into but we keep discussing about banking/ financial sectors/ corporates / even share trading whenever we get some time together. Hope these small gossips would somehow be beneficial in her future.

Here i don't have my kids or my little cousins to help of because most of them are small and they did not ever go to bank or they did use the bank services. I find wonderful when some one is there to help me. I think your are too lucky because you have a good daughter to help you.

I have ever been in the same situation. When I have my novels with me, I won't be too bored with the queue as I know what to do. But if I don't bring anything, I usually watch what people are doing. It's fun you know. Sometimes you can see many silly things done by people. I don't really enjoy browsing from phone so I find it that watching people is a lot more fun.

Automated Cash/Cheque Deposit Machines are conveni - Automated Cash/Cheque Deposit Machines are convenient to use.
You needed to queue 2 hours in the bank to make deposits? That is too much! How many counters did they open? Were there any automated teller machine(ATM)or automated banking machine(ABM)installed in the bank? Many banks in my country now require cash deposits below a certain amount to use the deposit machine which most operates 24 hours daily. Some banks here also set a standard that all their customers will be served within 10 minutes of getting the queue number. I guess if anyone were to be stuck in such a terrible jam, the only viable entertainment to pass the time would be to surf or text using their hand phones. But I don't think anyone would enjoy such an experience.

We have only two open counters and this is the reason why we people have such a long queue. I wounder why they can't increase the counters. We have a good ATM facility here and we don't want to be in queue, when we need to withdraw our money. So I love withdraws more

I suppose you meant 'queue'. Anyway I hate standing in queues. I even don like waiting for my bus. The only thing that I would do in such situations is listening to some songs using my IPod. That is the only way to keep myself calm. In case I did not take my IPod, then I would start overhearing people discussing around me.

Yes that was what i mean. We all are the people who do not like rushes, pushes and queues but the needs of the people at the same instant makes them. Each of the works need some time for it's accomplishment. So it is very common to stay in a queue. Hearing songs on them is a great idea and sometimes i just make use of it.

Once I was doing the internet through my mobile. During the time my battery was empty and I got a huge boring tasteless time. I don't know what to do at that time but no way just to cop up with it. Did you ever had such incidents ? Please share
29 Jun 12
I usually deal with the boredom of a queue by either listening to music or talk to the people around me. I seem to have this knack of meeting friendly people while in a long line. Sometimes just talking... I don't notice time passing by and I get to my turn in paying or doing the transaction I came to do.
