My neighbor must do something right as his garden always looks better than mine. I know he plants from seed so I was thinking instead of being the frugal person I am and maybe breakdown and buy some better seed. I usually buy the .10 packets that go on sale here in Feb. However, I was wondering if they knew if burpee and the alike have deals on their seeds when it's off season? Or anywhere on Amazon?

I honestly don't know of any places that have deals on seeds, but I suppose that there are probably some somewhere. With that said, when I am trying to start a garden, I find that I will tend to have plants that will be more hearty if I germinate my seeds on a wet cloth instead of trying to start them off in a small pot of soil. Then I will transplant them to where I want to leave them because I find the less that you transplant your plants, the better they are.

I agree with the last poster save seeds and you can save money. The other way to get seed is to trade with friends and family. My last suggestion is to buy better seed. Good luck with your planting.

You'll save money in the long run if you buy Heirloom seeds. They cost a little more but they are not genetically modified to not reproduce like the seeds you buy at Walmart are. They crops are better quality, too, so maybe your neighbor is using these seeds. Plus, you can save seeds from every harvest to plant another one so you never buy seeds again! Look up Heirloom seeds and see the difference. This is another example of how we've ruined our food by greed.

They do sell all kinds of seeds, terrariums, and greenhouses on amazon. They even sell seeding mats that get your seeds started before planting. Are you growing food or decorative plants? It also makes a huge difference what kind of potting soil you use.
