We have come a long way in terms of communication technology. Almost everyone has a cell phone now days, and they are on them a lot. At the affordable rates, who could resist? Does anyone still use payphones though? I have noticed that around my city, they have taken down many of the payphones I use to use when I was younger. Are they doing this in your city too?

I only use payphones if I have intentionally left my phone at home and need to contact somebody. With cellphone rates in my country, it is still cheaper to call by payphone than cellphone even if the latter is more convenient.

There are but I don't really call often enough that those plans would be better. We also pay by minutes instead of the duration of calls which is a big rip-off.

Yes, I don't use my phone much either, but find it cheaper then payphones. And if I need it, it is here.

Do you not have any plans that are a small fixed rate for unlimited minutes?

Well payphones that I am seeing now is inside the mall. Most of the people now are using cellphones now but there will instances that payphone are really useful. Like when your cellphone is empty battery and need to contact or call someone or in the office, payphones are always there to help you especially inside the mall. Somehow it is still helpful and needed in some situations and instances.

Sometimes I use payphones when I dont have prepaid credits on my mobile phone to call our telephone at home. So its just for emergency cases. But usually I always use my mobile phone and sms or call my friends and family.

Actually I myself have noticed there's even less of those old-fashioned machines, it's like you have to look for one nowadays, since we all got cell phones. I think the phone companies took them down because it was too expensive for them to keep them up and running. Kinda miss them, sometimes you can get a few quarters by randomly poking your finger into the change slots, one time I found $2, hehe. Ah well, the world is changing, I suppose.

Yah, that is one thing I miss the most, getting change. I found this one trick that would spit out $2 every time I did it. It evolved calling a pager tho, and the guy I was paging got mad.
