Don't you think is rude?

I was a new member in a forum somewhere. I made a thread about an online game. Apparently, this guy came to my thread and reply to me that I should go to Youtube and get the link of the walk through to post it. Okay fine, I will go and post the link in my thread. But he tells me while I'm at it I should go check his videos in his Youtube profile. I'm sorry but promoting your Youtube "videos" on my thread about an online game is something I could care less about. I watch what I want to watch and not when someone tells me what to watch especially their own videos.

I don't find it overall particularly rude as such. Unless of course their quite rude about saying 'hey check out my channel its 'effin great'. Some people just aren't so nice about trying to promote their own channels. S/he is probably trying to get onto the partnership program (I find forum trolls posting their link continually are infact trying to get a partnership and or subscribers) and they are failing miserably. What I do find rude (from what you say happened) is the way he approached the subject. If he was 'helping' you by suggesting to look up the walkthrough on youtube then thats good. But why not give you a link and THEN say hey would you mind checking out my channel? I personally would do it that way as the chances of him getting a few hits/views is greater than what it would be the way he approached it.

Yeah I usually hate it when people do that but the way you did would be much nicer and not just sounding like he's trying to get his number of views up.

The way he approached me is not polite. He just tell me to find and post the link of the walkthrough from Youtube and while I'm at it, I should check his videos. I'm not sure. The way I take it, it's like he's demanding me to check his videos.

Then in that case I wouldn't of A: posted the walkthrough and B: checked his channel out. Infact I'd of said something back (if I was in a smartass mood) something to the effects of 'meh your channel was boring' But thats just me

Hi Trinity, That is very usual in most forum site. There are people who would put links of their site without any permission. What I hate most is, some of them will send me PM about their program and wanting me to be their referral. I think some people will do anything to earn online such as to get traffic on their youtube page or website.

Yes, I know what you mean. But well, that are cheap people. You can't expect more out of them to be honest.

I hate when people promote themselves on forums and chat rooms, no one cares about your website, let your traffic grow naturally! Yes this is pretty rude, I also hate when people do this with referral links.
