Well first it depends on the cut of steak you have. I think the best way to cook steak is with dry heat. That way it browns and carmelizes the outside. 1 inch steaks I would normally cook 5-6 minutes per side at 130F. That would give me a cooked wellness of medium. If you like your steak medium rare I would cook it at 125F, and if you like rare 120F. Also if you like to season your steak make sure you pat your steak dry before adding your spices. I personally just use salt and pepper, so I don't over power the taste of my steak. :)

Gosh I don't know it's been along time since I've cooked a steak. I think though the thicker the cut of meat the easier it is for it to have a juicy flavor to it. I've noticed the thinner ones seem a lil tougher than one would want for the cost you shelled out for the meat.

I like to marinade my steak in vinegar and other things. It tastes so good and juicy. Must be careful though, not to marinade too long, it could damage the meat.

I kinda watched my classmate cooked steak during our nutrition subject. She pounded the it until tender then put salsa or seasoning then grilled it with potatoes.
