I like to cook rice with sesame and beans such as green/black beans. Sometime i cook rice with green/black beans only if my sesame is run out of. I think i have this habit since i was in Korea because Korean people prefer to cook like that...and now I feel rice is not delicious more if I cook rice only. However my friends don't like it, they said that it looks weird...Grrr.. How about you guys? Do you cook rice with beans?

My boyfriend loves black beans and rice. He thinks that is the only "proper" rice-and-bean combination. *Sigh* I do like black beans and rice. I also like other bean-and-rice combinations, though. I think this is something that I shall have to continue to work on regarding my boyfriend--convince him that other combinations can be good, too.

Wilsongoddard, I agree with your boyfriend opinion. I love black beans and rice too. it is very good for our health. You know black beans are very good for our kidney. I often cook sweet black beans soup every Sunday and enjoy it...wow..so yummy!!!

Most of the times I just used to cook the rice plain without beans but sometimes I just make use of them. The way of cooking depends on my mood and my moods decides how to cook the rice.

Oh, really? Which type do you cook when you are happy? Which type do you cook when you are upset? I do cook the same...it doesn't depend on my mood at all...

I make rice with beans sometimes. I also serve rice with sauteed sugar snap peas (or snow peas) and shrimp. Use olive oil or sesame oil for a very light mix-in. As breakfast food, it is good with a little sugar and butter.
