Quadruple earnings

Ha ha got you to look. This discussion isn't about quadruple earnings or myLot outages or any of that. For one thing, I haven't been on here, so 4 times zero is zero, and for another, other people have raised the issue of myLot glitches (or major systems failures) far more eloquently than I could. Nope, it's just the occasional update on my life, which is moving along... So, I'm homeless sort of. My house that I'm selling closed last week, and I am temporarily renting it back from the buyers. My house that I'm buying will close tomorrow. Yesterday I turned on the utilities. I still need to buy a dryer (new house is electric, old is gas) and maybe a washer. I need window coverings. I need a vacuum cleaner. I need a gate. I need some electrical work done. I need some work done in the back yard. Other than that, I'm pretty good to go, other than moving all this darn stuff. Meanwhile, life has been throwing curveballs at me. Two Thursdays ago, my company gave me my 60 day notice. Monday R found out that his company's contract with HP will not be renewed, so he might not have a job after December. The dog died unexpectedly. It's not all bad news. I might have some job prospects, and I get a real nice severance package. R might get a job with the new vendor if HP likes him. The dog, now that's sad. I guess I could have backed out of the house deal, but where would I find a rental for 4 people plus pets for $1200 a month around here. Wouldn't happen. So I took the leap of faith and went for the house. I think, if I don't get a job, that I can make the severance last a couple of years. After that, maybe I can get by on early retirement, who knows? But most likely I'll find a job, probably a pay cut, but that's OK. So that's my life, what's going on in yours?

I guess there's no way you're in a rut and that's a good thing. Hearing you speak of the kids as "people" made me think that we've known each other a while now and I wondered how old the kids are now?

Gosh! Where does the time go? They're almost "real" people. Not long now and they'll all have flown the coop. 'Cept they're people, not birds.

We all have curveballs. That's life. Some just have more than others. Sorry about yours but that will be what makes you who you are to be. I broke a wrist and am waiting for the swelling to go down so it can be cast. That is to happen tomorrow. It's been in a splint now for two weeks minus one day. I'd never broken a bone before so didn't realize the pain it would cause.

4x0=0 is right. Friday I lost my power. I didn't get it back until early Monday! When I did check in at My Lot, at the mall at a computer store, My Lot was down! It was wild! My favorite mall Had power but many didn't. It was like Black Friday crowded. And the Microsoft store had stools so you could try out the laptops. That's where I checked my mail! When I had time Monday in the day, They were Still having problems! As for my life, it is going to get back to normal! Yesterday I went to a baseball game. Tonight I'm going to another! By next week , it Will Truly be back to normal. I'm glad you can make the severance pay stretch! Hang in there!

Fantastic! Good Luck. Let me know how it goes! No , we had a storm. It was strong enough to uproot Trees and down power lines. It had pink lightning! Pink! It lasted about 10 minutes but took out the power for over a million of us. Many didn't get their power until 7 days later. Here in the DC area , there are three power companies. Mine in VA said very little but What they did say came to pass. They said it would take a couple days to see What they need to do and then they will get to work. The other two just said they think it will take 7 days before everyone is back. I'm in VA, the other two are Dc And Maryland. It was a mess.

Was the power loss due to the extreme heat? Get this, I posted my resume on dice Wednesday night, had a guy e-mailing me about a job Thursday morning. Talked to two people about it yesterday. Cross fingers. In a way it's too soon, but we shall see...

Oh no, I am so sorry Dawn, it seems like everything has gone wrong, but here is something I remember when life throws me a curve: I can only go so low, and then the only direction I can go is up..

GL on the job front. Same ole stuff around here. Work is getting a bit stressful as our numbers have been dropping and the boss lady ain't happy so we all get to hear it. Hoping we can turn things around before any of us (especially me) get the axe! Home life is peachy.. I guess. Most everyone has been rather moody due to the heat and lack of funds. The kids summer break has thus far been boring, due to the lack of funds. Hoping that turns around soon since I'm not sending the youngest to daycare this summer so that money will be extra for us and hopefully we can catch up on some bills and be able to do a little something this summer. Weird how it seems like I had more money last year when I was just working at Subway part time.. but that was mostly due to not paying a sitter. Now with paying for daycare I'm left with practically squat from my paycheck, then gotta pay for gas cuz Subway was right across the street where as the bank is a 20 minute drive.. yada yada. Oldest will be starting summer school on Monday because he failed 3 classes, but he can only make up 1 during summer school, so he'll only be going from 7-9am. Um.. that's about it in my life. Oh.. school is going fine. This semester will be finishing soon, then another semester starts in September, I have to take 2 classes in that semester then I'll be completely done in December! Woohoo!

I really like my boss lady and wouldn't want her or any of us to get the axe. We're a pretty tight knit group and boss lady takes excellent care of us.

Ha ha! And I was thinking what does Dawn have to say about this 4x earnings?!! I was just thinking at best, I couldn't make more than a dollar a day . . . and with the glitches - it'd be way less than that . . . especially when today is a holiday and I couldn't be on here much anyway . . . so why get flustered? I think I started getting especially frustrated when I got up one night (which I haven't done in a long time) just to be here - only to find it was down. Drats! Sounds like where we were at just a couple months ago. We could have moved in early May, but stuff needed to be done to the house, so we opted to rent the apartment for another month (oy, it was more like a storage area). We stayed at my parents house for almost a week . . . which was a lifesaver . . . but in hindsight maybe we should have just stayed in a hotel. We had to get the kitchen done, plumbing, and some electrical - among other things as it is an old house. We had to get a new stove and installed a dishwasher - didn't need a washer and dryer as it came with the house and was still pretty decent. We finally actually stayed here early June. Construction in the kitchen was still being done at the time . . . we ate out a lot! But now, it's all livable, but we're totally living out of boxes because we can't unpack quick enough. With the 2 kids - especially now that it's summer, we're out a lot on our adventures - so I really don't have much time during the day to unpack . . . and by evening after they go to bed - I'm too exhausted. But hey, we're "home"! Good luck with stuff!! If you can make the severance last a couple years, that's pretty darn good!!!

I hope you get a job very soon and all the debts get cleared. I am having little bit of debts and loans on my side and I am working over it and hope to clear it very soon. I think life is a beautiful. I also had not been able to get much on the quadruple earnings except on one day on which I was active. I also was looking to see something related to the quadruple earnings when I saw the heading. I think it is a funny thing the headings that most people look to see what is going on the content.

I looked not because of the title but because you haven't posted much lately. So, do you have to actually pay the buyer the $1200 or is it being deducted from the sale price?

The $1200 is my new house payment. But yeah, I had to write the buyer a check, and I'll get back whatever days I don't use.

Glad all is going well. SOrry to hear of the dog. That is always a sad thing. There are always things to do when getting anew place. I have only had two new homes and my husbands always kept them because I couldn't afford to and didn't want the responsibility. I am a life time renter. With your severance it sounds like you will be good to go. Mine was nice too. And early retirement was such a relief for me. Ofcourse I had medical issues. Everything is about the same here. Nothing new going on. Was disappointed by my third days 4x here but oh well. I worked until my fingers were nearly numb yesterday and only ended up making .68 cents. It was supposed to be the last of three days of the 4x. I know I made more than .l7 yesterday. You didn't say anything about your new boyfried. How is that going? Happy fourth.

Unfortunately I have tried to response to this discussion a few times now. I am hoping this time will post since everything seems to be running ok right now. Hate that about the dog. They really become part of the family. My life..oh my..let's see. Lots to share so I'll just highlight it..lol. I got a promotion at work that I am wondering is a promotion at all. I am dealing with a woman that is retiring next year and for some reason she wants to make it as tough as she can before she goes. My BA program has now assigned me with a learning team and they haven't seemed to come around to the what I say goes thought process My 18 year old daughter had a baby last week that I am absolutely crazy about!!! She is a beautiful little girl. I have been very busy helping my daughter taking care of her. I actually got to keep her last night for a couple of hours all to myself. That's about it here.

Like you, I haven't been here regularly. In fact, I have more than 200 notices in my inbox! Anyway, I'm glad that your life has been moving on. Even with all the recent curve balls thrown at you. I've been busy with work. Yesterday, I finally heard news that what I was working on for the past couple of months, has been finally accepted. Now I can move on too. I just need to clean a bunch of stuff on my desk that I've put aside.

Your life sounds like country music song. Maybe you would take sometime write the lyrics and find a singer. I bet you could generate a little extra money from that hit song you produce. Ssorry to hear about the dog. Our pets are like family it's sad when the die. Best Wishes!

I am sick of this heat wave we have had the last few days and it will continue until the weekend! I got sick at work today and had to leave work! The heat of the kitchen, which is not ventilated well, and the heat outside got to me! I did sit down in one supervisors office that is air condition. Drank 3 glasses of gatorade and lots of water! Didn't help as much as I had hoped! I am feeling better so I decided to be here on Mylot for a bit. That is what is up with me at the moment!

Hi, Dawn, I'm glad to read news about you at last. I wish you to fight with success with all the problems and to find a new job with a better salary Still no changes for me. I continue to work a lot for little money. My daughter who has finished her studies still can't find a decent job. I try to avoid the thoughts about retirement because the pensions here are more than miserable... But at least there is one good news - it's a hot summer and life is a little bit cheaper

Congrats Dawnald, as you said, you got me to look; even though I had no expectations about the subject matter, and your strategy worked! Anyway, perhaps, your could name it 'earning woes' instead. On a different note, Today, I was called by my ex-wife and told that she and her family will be migrating in a matter of days, and she'll be taking our daughter with her. The news caught be by surprise.., as while I am happy that she got a promotion as well, I am the loser. Why? I will not have access to my daughter as previously arranged. Therefore, I am alone. Hmm, is'nt that an interesting proposition?
