This morning, my friend ran to me excited. I thought she was to show me her new hairdo. Her 12.5-foot hair was cut. I was right but it was more than that. It was not just losing the hair but selling it. She said she realized throwing her hair is throwing away money and that she's going to grow her hair for money. Sounds weird to me but I know selling hairs is common out there.. My hair is as long as hers but I always have it trimmed to a foot. I need it to warm my cold-sensitive neck..so it's not for sale!

Yii, so there's a shop in the town buying hairs? Just hairs? No required standard?

I would never do that . I have natural dark brown silky hair . It is my treasure and I can never lose it for money . Have you read the short story "Gift of the Magi" by O'Henry . There Della , central character , sells her pride , her beautiful long hair to buy a christmas gift for her husband . She had no money and she sacrificed her most precious possession, her long hair .

Yes I read the book. Another similar story is "Little Women". A character sold her hair for her sibling. Keep your hair. It's beautiful!

I've heard of people selling hair too. I don't know how it goes, can you share how your friend did? I don't really have nice hair all the time, mine is all parlor-made. I naturally have wavy hair and I think they're kinda dry. But I did have a friend who grows the greatest hair, she didn't know about selling the hair though. I wish I knew. How did she do it? How is it priced?

Hi. she said she went for a haircut in La Trinidad and since her hair is beautiful, the gay barber offered her Php 800 but my friend has to sell not less than 2ft of her hair. She agreed. I think this amount is too low. I don't have any basis though..

Hair sale depends upon the mentality of the people. If a person having bald head cannot sell the hair. But for the sake of money do not sell the hair because the hair gives the confidence and shows to look others that we are still young. No person in this world definitely wont like to sell hair. But it is useful when you sell the hair the person who are bald getting a chance to buy wick and put it on their head.He or she gets happy and in turn you get happy because you lose you hair for the sake of money.

Well said. There's an actress in my country who donated her hair to a burnt patient. She confessed the hair will give a permanent improvement on the recipient's burnt face but it will help her a lot to cover the scar caused by the fire.

I have never had short hair in my 3 decades of life but my hair never reached Rapunzel hair's length as I had it trimmed every 4 years. It's very black and shiny. Very healthy hair. It was never been spad or treated. How much does it cost? It's 1.5ft long

Infact there are some places in India, where people come and bid on auctions to procure hair. It is really great that even your hair is helping you to get some money.
