What is the best way for a writer to get noticed?

What is the best way for a good writer to get noticed. I have been writing for over 20 years in somewhat obscurity it is time to breakout though should I get an agent or just hit the pavement?

What kind of writer are you? Are you a novelist? If you are, then definitely you'll need an agent. But, if you are a simple one like online writers like us. You'll just have to write quality and helpful articles.

Yes my next two books are a novel and a semi-autobiographical novel. I am seeking an agent and recenting sent off three query letters and Im waiting on feedback to send more so I am following what you say on that.

Yeah great to hear that you have been writing for 20 years. For a writer to get noticed it is very important for him to be creative enough to make him unique among his counterparts.

Ok thats my next step but I think most important is the consistency of follow through with the business side which im not great at . However this go around I am attempting to hire an agent and work on the follow through. Writing the book or article is easy the follow through of business and marketing is the key.

I think you should start up your own website since you've had soooo much experience in writing. You could start a website and write interesting things on it. You could earn quite a lot through affiliate programs but the most important thing is, you will be known as you are the one writting the whole website. Make sure to mention your name a lot and do interact with other bloggers as sometimes, these interaction allows you to guest blg on their blog and this will also get you better known.

Sure I have my own website and have been writing for a long time but it is a very competitive business. I will do more on interactive writing though I believe that is a key. Sites like mylot, Gather, Associated Content all have marketability. Yes I will keep writing. My name is Sourceseeker
