10 year old Daughter Locked in a Closet

This is appalling to read. 
Jacole Prince was charged with assault, child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child because she was keeping her malnourished daughter in a closet. The 10 year old girl weighed only 32 pounds (14.5 kg).
Even the neighbors were unaware that the woman had an older girl. The little girl told police her mother sometimes punched her on the back real hard and gets upset when she peed on herself.
Prince told the police she was embarrassed at how the girl looked and believed she would get in trouble if someone saw her that is why she is keeping her daughter locked up.
Really now?!? Your reason is because your daughter looked emaciated that is why you lock her in a closet?!? What kind of thinking is that 
I hope she gets locked up for good with what she did. And I hope she'll never see the other two daughters she had. We will never know what trauma those children had suffered because of what she did to her oldest daughter.
I pray the children will get through this.

This is not the first time that I've heard about a case like this, but it never does cease to amaze me that people are sick enough to do something like this. I believe that people who abuse their children like this should be locked into a jail cell and never be allowed to see the light of day again.
The reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that children are supposed to be nurtured during their lives and children that are kept locked away are never able to learn how to function in society.

I often wonder why people who are obviously incapable of having children are blessed with kids!?
I mean, nobody in the right mind would keep a child locked up inside the closet! Yeah, she might be too thin and the mother is embarrassed of that, then why don't she feed her well and take care of her then!? The child wouldn't look like that if she wasn't abusing her!
Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. These types of people need to be punished the way they abused their kids. Whew!
You mentioned that the neighbors didn't know that she had an older daughter. Does this mean that she has a younger one? Where does she keep the younger one?
I'm sad for the child. That's trauma there. Soon the kid wouldn't know what's right from wrong because her own mother didn't know how to take care of her!
Whew! I hope she gets better parents.

She takes care of the other two younger daughters that she has. The neighbors doesn't know she's got three daughters since she's locking up the oldest. It also says on the news that the abused child can't play with her own siblings or eat with them in the same table because her mother would scold her when she's messing her food. I think the child could have ADHD or any psychiatric problem that the mother failed to detect early on. Its sad that her only resort is to lock the child.

This is absurd.
What kind of mother she is, she don't deserve to be called as one.
There are parents out there who have kids having abnormalities but care their kids a lot.
There are couples are there who longed to have kids, but are not blessed enough to have one.
And here is this mother who doesn't a heart for her daughter.
Hope she will be punished for whatever cruelty she laid towards her daughter.
