I want to know about your feelings towards the upcoming London Olympics. I posted a similar discussion on this a few days ago, but it won't show up under my discussions and no one can respond to it now, despite mylot having fixed everything else. So I'm doing it again. Are there any Olympic sports you enjoy watching in particular? Any athletes you are following in particular? I'm looking forward to Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps swimming. I think Lochte is going to be hot on Phelps heels. And does anyone actually watch the sports such as archery? My sister called me the other day to tell me we went to school with one of the athletes who will be competing in the wrestling category. I remembered him. It's cool that he made it to the Olympics.

When I first tried posting this discussion I made loud mention of how hot Lochte is. Phelps is nice, but when it comes to looks, he's beaten hands down by Ryan.

Ambie, when does the Olympics start? Because I am kind of out of the loop, I have no idea. I think it is cool that you went to school with one of the athletes, and though I don't want wrestling, (I prefer the swimming and gymnastics), I am rooting for your friend..:)

I am looking forward to the Olympics this year. Actually I like them whenever they come around. There are more favorite events in the winter ones, but summer has good ones, too. I like the swimming, diving and gymnastics. My preference has always been for individual events, as opposed to team sports (like basketball and hockey), which are no longer amature events.

I think the most stark memory I have of the Olympic summer games was when Greg Louganis (have no clue how to spell it) hit the back of his head on the board as he went into his dive into the pool. Of course later we found out he was HIV positive. Which would have been good to know, because chlorine in the pool wouldn't dissipate the HIV virus from the blood in the water, would it? I mean no one got it because of that, but surely that was somewhat dangerous?

I remember that! You must have been pretty young! I would think that the treatments in the water would take care of the risk. At least I hope so!

Oh yes Ambie. I am very much into Olympics this time. It was just because Indians were not as hot popular in Olympics kept me away these years. I am very excited for the same and why not, it being the biggest platform for any athlete to perform. And yes we do have couple of archers from our country. They all made us proud in Commonwealth Games here in India. Dola banerji most favorite of all. I am big fan of Phelps after his exceptional performance in last Olympics. With Ryan gave him competition last Olympics, and beating him quite a few times in recent years has increased the excitation level. Also I read it is not all about Usain Bolt this time around in sprints. We also have strong contention in wrestling category, especially male, with one of them winning bronze for us last time around and golds in CWG. Also I am very excited about shooting, boxing and badminton, we have been very strong throughout these four years in addition to golds in last Olympics and CWG. There is so much to express. I am eagerly waiting for Olympics to commence.

First of all, congratulation for England to winning bidding being a host, despite the football coach doesnt put David Beckham, the one who represent England for involved in bidding, as Britain's squad :( when it comes about Olympic, i always look on athletics stuff, especially usain bolts. he made himself as the fastest runner in world's record, so it made me curious if he will break his own record on upcoming London Olympic

I found that quite an insult that he is part of the reason London got the games, yet he was snubbed.

I saw that discussion of yours. I didn't respond because I am not much of a sports fan. I think the olympics are great for athletes and a sense of country pride.

I'm a huge fan of the swimming events and will be watching the games. Also I happen to love archery and one of my friends was on the team years ago. He didn't win any medals, but its just great to get there.

I tried to respond to that one! I love Olympics. I'm mostly a winter Olympic fan, but I watch all of them, especially the individual sports. Can live without the team sports. My favorites are figure skating and gymnastics, then diving, then everything else.

It seems like there will be more coverage this year than any other year. A good time to be an Olynpic fan.

In general, I think the Olympics on television are pretty boring. In the summer I kind of like to watch the gymnastics but even then the only things I really like are the balance beam and floor exercises. It's more like watching someone dance. I'm kind of interested in watching the Who play during the closing ceremonies but not enough to make a point to watch it. If I think about it when it's on I might switch it over.

I love the Olympics. I am looking forward to watching the Olympic games in London. I enjoy watching as many of the events as I can. Honestly, I don't favor anyone. Every athlete has worked very hard and deserves to represent his or her country at the Olympic Games.

Hi AmbiePam, I love watching the Olympics. I enjoy watching all of the athletes compete in their respective sports. If I had to choose a favorite sport, it would be wrestling. I hope you are doing well. Have a great weekend!

Malaysia will count on Lee Chong Wei to win the fi - Malaysia will count on Lee Chong Wei to win the first ever Olympic goal medal.
Oh yes Olympics is a big sports event in my family as far as TV viewing is concerned. They are fans of gymnastics and high board diving. I am immensely interested in track and field events especially the 100m, 200m and 110m hurdles races. I like also basketball and field hockey. Badminton, especially men's singles event will be keenly watched by the whole of my country as our very own Lee Chong Wei is competing to try to win the very first Olympic gold medal for Malaysia.
