What Would You Do If You Cannot Get Along Well With Your Officemates?

Quitting job because of hard peers in the workplace? Most of working people are faced with this kind of relationship problem..the problem on getting along with fellow workers in the office. It is quite uneasy to perform our tasks in the company if we have a quarrel of what ever sort with people who are around us daily. Performance will be negatively affected. An attitude problem can be considered as the culprit in this problem. Our attitude must be fair and flexible when we are already in the corporate world. Attitude entails humility and accepting the person as he or she is. We do not compel people to change but do and act in a way that the common goal especially the company's goal will be accomplished. For me, I would communicate in a gentle way with anyone in the office. I have to learn my peer's personality then I would start relating with them from that basis so that I will not get easily hurt by them. Seeing to it that things be done in line with company's rules and goals is also one action I would do when I cannot get along well with my office mates. How about you, what would you do if you cannot get along well with your officemates?

I would just try keeping to myself as much as possible because I do know that tension can cause performance issues in the workplace. Sometimes it's really hard to block them out though, especially the loud mouth annoying ones. When you don't talk to them more than needed, hopefully they get the hint.

Hi Jshean! Thanks for the comment. As much as possible I do keep myself from issues in the workplace but sometimes, it is just hard to really do so.

I realize it can be hard to stay out of issues in the workplace, you want to be friendly but at the same time you're there primarily to do your job. I'm sure that by keeping to myself people probably think I'm a snob, but I just find it the safest thing to do.

I used to work in a hospital and i never liked anyone ever in the workplace, so.. i quit! For me, it is not always the money, it is the relationship that you build with your peers. I dont know if it is a mature way of handling it as that happened to be my first job. I have never regret leaving the hospital. I work in a corporate world now. I may not be fully practicing my license as a medical technologist but i sure am having fun here in the office.

Yes Gracee.You are absolutely right. Working is not all about money. Working relationship is really of greater value to consider in the workplace. I did that once..lol! Got to quit because i could no longer live my office days with such annoying peers. They became my friends, though when I am no longer connected with them corporately. Good to know that you are now having fun with your new world of work. That is the secret..having fun while earning..jeje.

Well get along with people sure is not an easy thing since everyone has different way of living and thinking. The simple way I always do is just talk when it is necessary and treat other the way I want to be treated. Following company rule, of course, since I work for other people.

You are right my friend.. That is why I am trying so hard to accept the person's personality and simply treat normally despite of sometimes his annoying attitude.

Definitely with talk to that person to know what seems to be the problem.If that person still do and act the same way after ever though I did not do anything wrong to the person, well I just ignore the person and do my job well.It is not my lost as long as I am right.I don't want to waste my time to those kind of narrow minded people and just enjoy my life.

Sometimes, I do employ this strategy, too. I simply ignore the person and just keep working as usual..

I would only talk with them when I needed to. I have a few at work that I don't like and I keep our conversations work related only. It makes it hard though when you are in meetings together or working on a project etc... But I try and make it work. The majority of the people I get along with though so I am happy about that. By the way your profile pic looks A LOT like mine lol. I took my pic on the beach of Florida.

jeje..yes, the pics are almost exactly the same.. the pic is taken in the island of the philippines. Keeping the conversation work-related is one of the actions that I have to take.Sometimes, it is hard to ignore the personal issue, though. T
