just lately i found out that the island near my city named Basilan is a volcano itself..the whole island is part of the volcano. wow. I never really knew this. I mean all my life i live here but i never really knew this, i always wondered before if we have a volcano near us... i know there are volcanoes in the Philippines like Mt. Pinatubo and Mayon but none near me.
So i am quite amazed by this...and i hope it will stay dormant. 
i wonder if anyone here lived near a volcano? any fear that it will explode any time soon? or was it dormant?

you are in Phil. There is an island with volcano near your city. take care do not visit that island. let us hope it will stay dormant or inactive. Such experiences are good to read and watch but difficult to bear when it comes to us.
thank God there are no volcanoes near Chennai the place I stay normally.

Lol when i read about this i fret lol i worried it might get active but hubby said to get a grip, it has been dormant for some years now and let us pray it will remain dormant in our lifetime.

Its not the volcano that she must afraid of but abu sayaff. hehehe.
Theirs just too many extremist and rebels in Basilan that dormant volcano is not worth thinking of.

yes i lived here all my life and it may sound scary but i am not that scared at all.. it has been dormant for so many years now.

I've always lived all my life in the city and I have never known any volcano here in our island. It's a good thing you knew that there was a volcano present near you than knowing it late when it already erupts. Do take care and pray it doesn't wake up or else that's really bad.

Yes i sure hope not it will wake up..maybe i should start buying sleeping pills so when it wakes up i would just give it some pills..

From time to time I hear an encounter between military and abu sayaff and MILF in their. I guess its a site that the volcano is not dormant. hehehehe.
I guess if basilan is indeed a volcano and its going to erupt I think their will be peace in the land as the true bayanihan system of filipino either muslim of christian will surely surface and help each other in time of crisis like volcanic eruption.

I know one at least one other Lotter friend who stays near some volcano and she is from your country too. The last time we shared our ideas, she is okay with the lifestyle and dangers of being around something like a dormant volcano.
Well, I pray and hope that the volcanoes stay dormant and if they ever start becoming active, you and people near by(in the danger zone) are made aware of much in advance and are shifted to some safer location before it erupts.

I didn't live near a vocano.Well,i think it is really horrible if it is active.And maybe a little bit dangerous.Just think positive and people will be ok,i think the government will try to tell in advance before the vocano has any info being active.

we live on the foot of a mountain, Mt Banahaw, which is an inactive volcano. before our house was constructed we had to get rid of a lot of huge rocks first that were scattered all around the lot. According to the old people from this town, the rocks were from the time when the volcano errupted. So yes, it is a bit scary because we know that our place will be smashed in case the volcano becomes active again. but living next to a mountain has its perks. For one, we have great weather. It's always cooler here compared to Metro Manila.

Yes it is indeed a lot cooler and fresher to live near the mountains, it was great when we went for a vacation at my dad's province too..
I sure hope these volcanoes will stay dormant as it can truly disrupt people's lives.
