Yelling at the garbage can!!!!

Okay, you got me! You know by now that if it is something weird it must be Khuay. My usual routine in the morning is to get up, get dressed, down a half dozen pills for breakfast, let the dogs out, and sit for a few minutes to wake up. During this time I usually have Khuay on my lap, purring like crazy and shooting adoring looks at me (sometimes I wonder about his judgment of character!). This morning he has jumped up on my lap three different times, after sitting in front of the garbage can and yelling like crazy at it. While he is yelling at the garbage can he reaches out with his dainty white paw and smacks the daylights out of it! When I ask him what's wrong he comes racing to me and jumps up in my lap and flops on his back and purrs like crazy!!! He'll lay there for several minutes while I pet him and scratch his belly; then he jumps down and has it out with the garbage can again. It is so totally different because he seldom says much, and he used up his speech for an entire month giving that garbage can what for. I'm sitting here wondering what is going through his mind, I checked the can and there was nothing wrong with the can (no mice hiding behind it) so what did the garbage can do to annoy the cat? He just jumped up on my "chest" and kneaded like crazy. Of course he is always full of purrs for anyone who will pick him up; and he looked me in the eye as if to say "THERE!! I did something cute now you can tell everyone that I'm still around!" Talk about ham!!!!

Ha, I have seen some younger cats do that with objects that didn't move simply cause they just felt playful or had some kind of urge to attack something for no reason, he was probably just pretty happy and doing what a cat does is all. That is pretty funny, I just love him, and I have never seen him in person. LOL.

Just read that over again and you said he was "yelling" at it first then smacking it. LOL, that is even funnier that what I first read too quickly, earlier. Suppose he might have smelled something in it that he didn't care for. I'm not quite sure. Haha.

Haahaaa might have been bored with his routine and found something to amuse him or maybe it was a certain smell? But anyway that would have been very amusing to see. Cats do some of the funniest and strangest things at times, you gotta love them

No mice huh? Maybe the last place he saw that mouse was there and he's hoping it'll cough up another one.

I wonder if perhaps a mouse was near the can and when you got up, it ran off? Because if an animal's behavior changes, there is usually a reason. For example, I would freak out if someone came knocking on my door and both my girls, (but especially Penny), didn't move or bark. Are you positive no mouse was around?

Loverbeat thanks to you amd Khuay I had my first real laugh of the morning. Wonder what he thinks is wrong with that garbage can. Maybe some odor he smells and gets mad at the can for not producing the food that gives this lovely smell. lol He has to be a real showman 'first showing off his acting ability then purring and being all cuddly.I believe that garbage can and Khuay will always be a funny mystery lo

Thank you for my giggle of the morning! When I got Khuay and his brother Willy outside of Wal Mart four years ago I never knew what joy and fun they would bring to my home. I haven't had better companions! Willy is as big a snuggler as Khuay is a comedian. I keep thanking God that I got the pair as a lot of people wouldn't understand the pair and wouldn't treat them very well. I am going to post Khuay's next antic in a few minutes...you're going to love it! Stay tuned.

Oh, one does have to wonder sometimes what goes on in their kitty brains. I know that they sense a lot of things we don't. However, one does have to wonder what offense the poor trash can committed to get smacked like that. I've seen my boy do similar things (never a trash can but other things that had somehow offended his delicate sensibilities).

Maybe there are some tiny miniature bugs inside the garbage can, that his super hero kitty cat ears can hear. Of course he wants you to praise him for protecting you from them.

What a silly cat lol. My cats used to love to get in the garbage cans drove me nuts so I bought ones they couldnt get into. They must have been so dissapointed then. I thought when I saw the title of this discussion that it was about a person and it reminded me of my drunken schizophrenic neighbor lol. He got so drunk one time and went out and was screaming and yelling at his garbage can and threw it out in the road. The thing was brand new and a truck came buy and hit in and ran it over. It destroyed it. Hopefully it taught him a lesson but he was probably so drunk he had no idea where his garbage can went the next day lol. Who knows. I'm glad he doesnt get that drunk very often anymore it got real bad the things he was doing.

Your neighbor reminds me of one of my drunkin neighbors. We live in an area that is horrible for snakes and during the summer you never know where or when you're going to come across a rattler. This neighbor came home from a party one night and saw the hose curled up in the yard. He totally lost it and grabbed an axe and chopped the "snake" into little pieces. His wife went ballistic!! She had turned on the water and was going to water their plants and there was about 3 feet of hose left. They went home for the week and she went to the store and bought a new hose, this one was all yellow so he couldn't mistake it for a snake. Unfortunately it didn't work. That night he came home from a party, drunk out of his mind, saw the yellow hose, grabbed the axe and destroyed another "snake". His wife almost took the axe and destroyed him! She bought another hose, but when she was done using it she would lock it up in one of their storage chests. She wouldn't even let the man use the hose. We had some really interesting neighbors on that side of the housing complex, and I really miss them! The neighbor to the hose man came home from a fourth of July party and started having a really great fight. My bedroom faced their patio so I could benefit from their escapades. That night I heard the fight start, it was inside with the doors closed so all I heard was loud mumbling. Soon, though, the fight moved outside. I heard him mumble and of course I sat up in bed and was totally focused on the fight. Then the woman shouted at him "I am NOT Nancy, never was Nancy, and NEVER will be Nancy!!" His response was mumbled, and she again replied "I TOLD YOU I AM NOT NANCY!!!!" Again there was mumbling from him. She shouted at him "If you want Nancy go out and find Nancy, I AM NOT NANCY AND DON'T EVEN WANT TO BE ANYTHING LIKE NANCY, NANCY IS A SL-T AND I AM NOT A SL-T!!! AND IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO GET ANYTHING TONIGHT YOU CAN GO OUT AND F-CK AN OAK TREE, THAT'S THE CLOSEST YOU'RE GOING TO GET TO GETTING ANY!!!" They moved back in the house at that point. I was soooo disappointed and was tempted to call them and ask them to move the argument back out on the patio. It's been awfully dull since those two neighbors left, the new ones are really staid and boring.

Oh my gosh that is too funny lol. You actually like the excitement in the neighoborhood from the drunken neighbors. At times it is funny with this guy but he is scary. The one time he came to my door and said he couldnt find his dog and he just wouldnt leave. He was so drunk. He kept pushing my door open and telling me how pretty I am and asking if he could touch me. He told my son he was going to kill him. I think he meant like jokingly beat him up but my son was 3 and this guy was trashed and only has one tooth left in his head that at that point was bloody and about to fall out. My mother lives across the street and saw what was going on and called my father in law who lives down the street to come help me. He and my brother in law came up and got him to leave and he was throwing pretend swings at them. He finally left and started stopped every car that went by even the school buses. He would stand in front of them forcing them to stop. My father in law called the cops and they came and told him he had to go stay in his house. It was his birthday lol.

All animals--cats especially--live with one foot in the Twilight Zone. Best just to tend to your business & not ask. MP

Hi Maggiepie, long time no hear from! It's so great to hear from you again. You're right about all animals having one foot in the Twilight Zone! We had a poodle who could see ghosts. He would get up in the middle of everything and follow something through the house. You could tell he was following from his body language and his attitude. Also in the middle of the night he would let out a howl that would have your hair standing on end!!! If people would tune into their animals more they would learn a lot about their psychic abilities and more. Unfortunately to too many people animals are just that, animals and that animals are dumb. As I tell people, because you don't speak a person's language do you treat them like they are dumb? It's the same with animals. Just because we don't understand what their "language" is saying it doesn't mean that they are dumb. I do have to say that with Khuay his antics fascinate me, and I do get curious about what goes on in his mind. I am sure that I must have been a cat previously as I am as curious as a cat!!! It is so wonderful hearing from you again! I really missed you a LOT! Welcome home.

Been pretty sick (months of hospitalization, therapy, et al), & only recently able to go back online. No complaints, but Still pretty puny, but trying to go through 5000+ email, so forgive brevity, please. Only have time & stamina enough to touch noses, yet. Can't do your post true justice, therefor but ITA with you re the relationship you describe. Worked for my entire life to improve understanding between myself & animals! We must return to Eden! Thanx for warm greeting! :) P.S. Cats & dogs really DO "see" things! Love, MP
