New Computer!

My mom just surprised me with a new laptop! For a long time now my computer has been causing me a lot of grief, but I couldn't afford to get myself a new one (being a full time student paying my own tuition and NOT working doesn't allow for a whole lot of spending money). But my mom just got home from my brother's house, which he helped set up. I'm so happy! I'll still use this one for certain things, but I'm so happy I got a new computer. It is a Sony laptop, not sure what make or model or whatever! Haha, but my brother said it's one of the best ones that Best Buy carries. And he knows his electronics so I can trust that word. What surprises have people in your life given you? What the best surprise you ever received?

You really sound like a hard-working girl... There're many like you these days. Keep it up! Yeah, it is a bad thing to lose assignments, for which one'd done a lot of hard work. Good thing, you won't have to worry anymore about it. I was good in studies, until I met a girl.. Then I got spoiled.. Lost my grades and the girl too... LOL... Good Luck to you, missy!

I appreciate the way you think- neat & planned! I was never like this, will never be. You people always have a happy life, and your happiness remains even when you're struggling.. People like you're amazing. In my previous post, I wanted to say 'there are not many people like you these days'... I guess I forgot to type the 'not'... Yours is a rare kind, missy, preserve it... Oh, we've something in common... I hated Maths! I'd nightmares.. I was good with science, social science, & languages.. But never maths... :-)

Oh no! That's too bad! I won't let a guy mess up my grades! I'm almost done with school! I do my best at all my classes, even the ones I don't like (math!). Right now I have a high B in my summer math class...would LOVE to bring it up to an A, but I'd be happy with a B too! Thanks!

Wow that's great, congrats on your new laptop! Hmmm my brain can't even think right now of the best surprise I've ever had strangely. Maybe I haven't had one or I'm not impressed easily That makes me sound like an ungrateful person but I'm not I swear! But I could say that there is always some sort of surprise or rather gift everyday. Gift of good health would be the best

Wow! Congratulations on your amazing gift! The biggest surprise I think I have ever gotten was about 8 or 9 years ago at Christmas when my wife got me a hang gliding flight! I think she might have been trying to kill me! Seriously though, it was an awesome experience and one I will always remember but it was a surprise as I had never spoken of wanting to do it before. It was well worth it, loads of fun, but too short. Seemed like we only just got up to a great height when it was time to go down again.

Wow! Hang gliding!? I could never do that! I hope no one ever tries to surprise me with hang gliding (or bungee jumping or skydiving, etc) haha. I have a little fear of heights, and falling! So that would be a big waste of money on me! Lol Thank you!

Oh wow! congratulations! I can understand how it feels to receive something you wish for desperately as a surprise. When I was in 8th class, I was desperate to get a gold chain as my elder sister and younger brother both had a gold chain. But my parents told me that since gold price had hiked up they would not be able to buy it for me. Both my siblings used to tease me a lot for not having my own gold chain. But my loving parents gifted me the gold chain that very year on my birthday as my surprise present. I can't tell you how delighted I felt.

That's awesome! Maybe one day you'll have something you can tease your siblings about, payback! Haha. I'm glad you were finally able to get your gold chain! Thank you!

That was really nice of your mom!! I am happy for you. Maybe you can do something nice for her, to show that you really appreciate her doing that. My husband went out and bought me a bigger computer monitor. He said mine was too small. He don't do anything with a computer, so it surprised me.

Yes it was! And that's a good idea, I'm just not sure what I can do for her. I was planning on making her a cake with an NCIS theme (she loves NCIS) for her birthday (July 19th) but I don't have the stuff I need. My dad might help me get the stuff. And the stuff I'm talking about is fondant to decorate the cake. But if I can't get hold of it I can still make her a cake, we do have cake mix! Haha That was nice of your husband!! I bet the bigger monitor is nice!

When I'm stressed and almost depressed, my son gave a birthday present under the title "La Tahzan" (don't be sad). The book's many influential for my physical and mental health. I still keep the book, and occasionally I read again.

When i was working i would always buy little things that I thought my mom would like, little animal knick knacks and things like that. She always told me not to buy her anything, but sometimes I couldn't resist. And I would surprise my nieces with a dinner date or a movie. But now that I'm not working....I can't suprise people much anymore

That's so great of your mom! I hope to do that with my kids someday too. Give them something that they don't expect and just make them happy. Not that I don't already do that with toys and games now that they are still young, but maybe big purchases when they are older. And something that they really need like computers and laptops.
