My mobile was lost last year. Still I not purchased new mobile I repaired my husband's old mobile and using it. Full one year complete now again my mobile is damaged and my dever purchased new mobile because their mobile was also damaged. But I take my dever's mobile and repair it only in 500Rs. Now I am using his mobile. Company is good Nokia mobile is with camera now everything ok.. I saved my 3000 Rs. because now old mobile is looking like new mobile. How is my idea what you think. This is good idea.

surekha: If I remember right--you lost two mobile phones within a short period of six months or so-- your idea of getting the old one repaired is fine. new nokia with camera will cost around 3000 rs. (60$). pl keep it carefully. hope you are teaching as usual in your institute. How is your husband doing in his teaching/marketing area? good day

I am one of those people that will use my mobile phone until it is so damaged that it cannot be repaired. The reason that I do this is because of the fact that I don't really see any point in replacing something that isn't broken. Now, my brother is a person that is really hard on phones and for that reason alone, we all save our old phones so that there will be a backup phone that he will be able to put his sim card in when he breaks yet another phone.

Good afternoon surekharathi, Thats great that you were able to repair that other one of your husbands! It can be very expensive to replace your phones. The phones are getting more and more expensive if you are just buying a new one when you already have a plan. There arent any discounts offered for you. We do have an upgrade period after a certain amount of time where you can get a discount on phones. But when it is cheaper to repair what you already have its always the best choice.

Well each pf us has different way of thinking. If you are well satisfies with the respired one then go with it . If I am in the place of you I will surely get a new branded one with good specifications, this is only me personal view and I don't mean that you are just bad at your decision.

bradzuo welcome to mylot. If the features used by us are same then old phone should be fine. if we want new features then we should buy new one. re. higher radiation from old phones --- i have not heard so far. good day.

brazo you are right radition of phone is not and this is risky for body so in news channel shows some precautions for using cell phone. I watch and follow it. Uncle brazo is right now cell phone radiation is danger for body. But Govt. should apply some limitations for cell phone company to reduce the radiation. Govt. gives the period one year for completing this.

I guess that depends on the damage sis. My son's dropped his mobile phone while washing his clothes. It drops inside the washing machine. He open it and try to dry all the parts using a hair dryer. He did everything he can and now it is working good. It's been few months since it happened and the mobile is still working good. Maybe my son is good enough for a mobile phone technician lolsss

Ohhh God very sad dropped mobile in washing cloths means damaged fully. But your son is lucky start working his phone once again. You are right depends upon damage because if repairing cost is more then purchase new one is good.

good day surekharathi, what you have think is really good. in that way, you can save a lot, since the cost of the repair is much lower than buying a new one. however, please also consider the duration as to when that repair will last. if you will just use if in the span of a month then better buy a brand new one. just don't settle for less my friend.

You are right if cost is lower then repair old is good but its life should be more otherwise purchase new one is good. Nice suggestion.

Hi SR Well, its depend on condition of that phone.. If it is too bad, than batter move for new phone. I am saying this from my recent experience.. I was using my dad's old mobile phone(after repairing).. But soon it got same problem, and again gone for repairing. But the same problem was continuing with that phone, and even shop keeper told me that, this will be not completely repaired, and problem will keep coming after few days... So I decided to go for new phone. Actually I was having my new phone, but I wanting to use my dad's double sim phone.. But in the end i had to go for new one.... So its totally depend on condition of the phone.

As far as cell phones are concerned, I tend to purchase new ones myself because I have found that this saves me money in the long run. Also, the company I use also offers very affordable insurance. This is a helpful way to go. Trust me, I have been through a lot of phones. if you purchace insurance, the company will replace the phone if it gets damaged. It may seem like a lot to put out, but mine runs me only 2 dollars a money. It adds up I guess, but it saves me on having to come up with a big amount all at once if the phone decides to go out on me you know? also, I like the pre-paid virison phone offered at most dept stores called straight talk. You buy the phone and phone card. It's only 45 dollars a month and has unlimited text, talk, web browsing, pic text, etc all in one for one price. So if you don't feel like going with a set company, this is a good option as well.
