I have been thinking of putting up a school and office supplies. After quitting my day job, I am hoping to be able to start such business. It will be located downtown in our place. What is trying to bother is my space rental. I do not know if I will be able to gain here.Another factor that keeps me thinking is on how I will be able to get a supplier that would give me a cheap cost and other consideration. Anyone who has ad idea about this business? I believe that I can get some help here.

Hi Keshlois! Good luck to your venture. You may want to source your supplies from Binondo. They give very good discounts when you order in bulk. Have you furnished your DTI, mayor's permit and BIR COR yet?

Hi Gracee! Thanks for wishing me success in my plan. It is still a plan that I want to implement once I quit from my day job. Maybe in a month, my resignation would be approved. So, the business papers will be processed after my resignation. By the way, can I find any supplier in Binondo through the internet?

Kesh, i think it is quite hard to get cheap supplies for school items. Nowadays, things are getting expensive. If only you are able to buy in bulk and sell as per item, you might be able to earn a little profit from each of them. you need to survey a few suppliers, to get the price for each item that you have interest to sell. If only you manage to find one that are really cheap, then you can go for it and give it a try. Hope you success in running your stationery store.

Thanks myfb! Yes, you are right with that idea that things are getting more expensive these days. I am planning to buy in bulk then sell them at retail price. But I worry on the rental fee which might make it hard for me to gain.

Do you have a supplier? Maybe we can have a business partnership of some sort. We have school supplies/office supplies as well as other supplies for other industries.

Well i appreciate your idea of business which is very much unique but i believe will definitely succeed in the long run. i think you should at first use some of the space of your home may be a garage or a verandah where you can start your business and later on with time and more investment you can enlarge that space. At first you should take wise decisions in contacting some known suppliers who can help you to grow this business even if that requires a higher investment. Hope my ideas would help you in your business. Best of luck!

I agree with you here. Since this is the first step, might as well test the waters first before going big time. Rental is really going to be very steep if its in a prime area.

I honestly do not know what you should do, to be able to make sure to make a profit from it.
