What about an abuse button for comments on our photos ?

I know I have a cute 19th century avatar, and that the 81 years old comic drawer on my photo has a lot of s*x-appeal, but I find exaggerating to be loved at first sight by a new member falling in love every time she sees a photo :
http://www.mylot.com/w/image/2546260.aspx
I see only a trashcan near photos. And if I delete the comment I cannot report it. I think myLot should add an abuse button near photo comments, or GAA will be soon spammed by our PMs if this behavior spreads.
Have you had problems with photo comments ? Have you deleted them, reported them to GAA ?
Tiebreaker : should have I asked a picture to her before starting this discussion ?
Caution : this will be perhaps deleted.

We had a problem like this one some time ago where a new user was spamming comments on many, many photos and leaving their contact too
As there is no 'report abuse' button for comments on images, and I agree with you that there should be, the only way round this situation is a PM to GAA.

I have sent a PM to GAA about that user and he will undoubtedly deal with the spammer. We do occasionally get spammers who find ways of 'flying beneath the radar' of normal moderation procedures.
You shouldn't assume that Admin will read your discussion, Topffer. He is a busy person and, I suspect, can find time to do little more than read discussion headings and select those which are likely to be Guideline violations. He certainly welcomes users reporting the less easily detected violations such as responses and comments on discussions and photos.
A 'report abuse' button would certainly make it slightly easier to report abuse in photo comments and in Private Messages but, now that everyone can very easily send a PM to GoAskAlice, it would really not make a lot of difference.

I agree that this behavior is spam, but do users actually earn for this activity? I know this sounds like a "newbie" question, but I can't find anywhere in the FAQs that says we earn for commenting on photos ... it does say we earn for uploading photos into comments and responses, but it never says we earn for commenting on these photos. The fact that we are allowed to delete comments on our photos would suggest that we do not earn for them, because nowhere else on myLot are we (the users) able to delete anything that can generate earnings.

I do agree that you have a cute avatar, but I must strongly disagree with the s*x-appeal of the 81 year old comic artist. The fact that you need to ask whether or not you should have requested a picture of her before starting this discussion is something that might send you back into your wheelchair, though.

Gathering information, huh? You make it sound like such a good and upstanding thing to do but yet I get the distinct impression that you have less than pure and noble reasons for this endeavor.

hi topffer
Hahaha! Congrats mate, you found some one interested!
I know that pic if the "commentor" had posted - it would have been a treasury chest with some gold bricks
Look dear, I know we should have a delete button and maybe a more effective one but then it will take at least some hours (and that too only if someone complains and reports) for anything to get deleted and by them almost many will have read and seen what they shouldnt have...
And the whole outcome of that exercise of deletion - stands no where. Practically, no one learns, and no one changes his/her way (like that one on your earlier discussion!)
Sorry, but that is how I look at things. I personally feel that the rules should be more stringent and effective unless they mean nothing anywhere.
And as for deletion of this post - MyLot would be unfair if they deleted this.

Hi thesids
A good reason for a deletion is that I will not keep this masterpiece of declaration of love during a long time. If it stays it will be only for the discussion about the abuse button.
Everybody is different : I have learned from deletions here ; I agree that I have not changed many things, but I have made some adjustments...

You should not have deleted your photos jennyze : people were speechless with admiration in front of them.
I agree that an abuse button would discourage to post such spam messages. If this -- now banned -- member has chosen photos for her spam, it is indeed because there was no abuse button.

Or we can have a "block" button. We can always block the person who spams our photos and messages.
I did use a lot of "block" button in another site.... Who would want to receive a friend request with a long message about how his/ her all family are deceased now and he/she needs someone's help to transfer his/her family money that was blocked... Hah! Couldn't be more weird if you ask me...

Haha, well, your cute avatar looks like a genius and maybe that's the reason why you haven't received such declaration of love since these spammers don't like genius people, lol!

I can see your point after I saw what kind of message she/he posted to you.
At first look harmless but after I see his/her profile, darn ..... that user try to abuse everyone. If someone response to his/her message, DANGER is coming ....
I hope admin can deal with this matter soon as possible ....

I don't think I am impressive enough to receive a message like this from a new member, so my heart has not been broke when I saw the profile. This kind of spam bu commenting a photo was new for me, and I have just noticed the absence of an abuse button for these comments.

They do need a "!" button where we can report someone's comments even in pictures as it is unfair when someone posts something unappropriate and we cannot report it. If people really think they are doing a favor adding things like this, this is not Facebook, and people from all over the world are coming here and having Fun. Just some people try to ruin a good thing when they see it.

It was not a favor, but a true spam duplicated under several other photos of other members, because there is no abuse button for comments on photos. This did not prevented this new member with a (0) rating to have her account canceled. I don't understand why there is no abuse button, at least for comments on photos posted with a discussion : we are not able to remove these photos, so it would be logical to have an abuse button instead of being able to remove the comments.

oh my she did not mince any words how embarrassing.think she
mistook that picture for some lonely hearts club. I got a
similar p m awhile back thinking I was a guy wanted to
exchange pictures, said looking for a good man. I replied
my lot ia not a club to find partner and I am a female anyways.
think she is a bit confused?yes there should be an abuse
button on pictures like that. wow.

i like your avatar, it makes me guess about the person, before i was really curious as to what you are i mean male or female, and i feel like there is mystery behind the avatar
maybe gaa could add an abuse button if ever there are people who will abuse the photos section.

Perhaps you over react? when you are as ugly as me a stalker of any kind would be a blessing. And what person could not like your avatar? it shows that she has a fine eye for art, even if her eyes may be too far apart and look like a demented chameleon.
I never check my photo's for comments, perhaps i should. I may have some deranged admirer, recently escaped from a asylum that i could run away with and live wild in the Yukon mountains with the sasquotch.

Oh no! So these spammers are here also.
I haven't got any problems like that so far. But I do hope that your suggestion will be considered by GAA.

It is not a common spammer. It is easier to do like this than to make a friend request and spam with a PM... I think there is a real danger here, even if a member with (0) has no copy/paste option and has to write the same message again and again in this case.

I also believe similar provision of informing AA should be there. The member was trying to spam the mail boxes or photos of our members. I have not posted any photo and so no such comments.

hi topffer what gets me is this person has used the same comment
on 8 other comments to photos. She does not seem to care if
the person is man or woman. She had o rating so she cannot
copy paste. my she must have a lot of time on her hands and she cannot have re ached 500 yet so how does she copy paste all these.
She must be a nut as she somehow got hold of my email, told me she read my discussions and wants to start a relationship with a
good man like myself.okay J am a woman and at my age not'
interested in any relationship.I told her I am a female and not impressed with her email.
