Do You Think The Denver, Corado Shooting Was An Influence of The Batman Movies?

I often wondered why people turn to violence even if there is no provocation. It would be easier to understand if a man help up a small drugstore for a can of milk so that he can feed his starving baby. But a scene like this that killed 12-14 persons including a small kid is just hard to comprehend. There is a similar incident in Toronto. It happened in a mall. Although, reports say that there was a target and there was just collateral damage. I am now wondering what pushes or urges people to pick up guns/ammo and start to kill. I am beginning to think that violent movies must have a part in this. Do not get me wrong. I like hero movies like Batman. However, if it has a bad influence on our society specially our kids, I would rather not have a movie like that at all! What do you guys think?

I don't believe the Movie Franchise is to blame here,as there are far more violently portrayed schlock horror movies available to bring on the Crazy...This guy was guaranteed a full house of potential victims for a movie premiere..That seems to have been Motive enough, but Hearing the background story that he'd left his home place wired with explosives to be tackled by bomb squad officers,I'm glad for whatever reason that He didn't just go with bombing the cinema instead..

I think that movies can have a bad influence, especially violent ones, on people that are already mentally imbalanced. But I think the main cause was that he just snapped. Very tragic. I have family and friends in Colorado that are thankfully safe.

I don't think it was THIS movie, but I'm not saying that movies haven't had a bad influence on others and caused them to do things they wouldn't normally do. It's awful that this happened. Whatever caused the man to do it, he shouldn't have. I hope he gets the full extent of the law laid on him and I feel for the poor people who perished and their families. I know a three month old was involved, but from what I heard they were injured but not killed?
