Periods of confusion

Wow! I am reay loopy on this medication. I'm taking Klonopin twice daily and two antidepressants and ambien at night. today I didn't recognize our livi g room. It looked like I was in someone else's house. Then at supper tonight I could see out the window I was positive there were indians out there and we were in the 1700 s where people were afraid of Indians I think I just have to get used to the medicine. I notice I don't switch like I usually do. I just get very confused. This morning me daughter found me asleep on the toilet. I must have gotten up to use the bathroom and then just wasn't awake enough to get off the Jon and go to bed again. My daughter walked me to the bedroom. I hope I get used to this stuff soon.

You may be having an allergic reaction to the medications or the dose may be too much. You should consult your physician.

If I'm still the same by Monday I'll cl. I'm on low doses of the medications. My daughter takes myth heavier doses than I do. It took her awhile to adjust. So it will probably be the same for me.

That is a lot of new medication all at once. Let someone else do the driving for sure. We will all hold you to your word and expect you to call if this is not better by Monday.

I would be inclined to think the dosage is too high.. I think quite often dosages are too high. Perhaps a little experimentation along with your doctor perhaps would help. I also think many meds are prescribed to handle side effects of a previous med already being taken and that can cause problems too. Perhaps you are having a combination issue..?

Let me tell you what I did when I was on Ambien. I drove. One morning I woke up and thought, I had the weirdest dream. I dreamed of driving around a tractor on back roads, and going over the curb and hitting a stop sign. So when I walked out that morning imagine my surprise to see my front headlight hanging out. Ambien is NOTORIOUS for causing people to do things they do not remember. My Aunt Joyce was on it and her husband found her in the bathroom cutting her hair off. She has no memory of doing it.

my dad had a reaction to meds when he was in the hospital. he was sure we were at war and there were double agents around and told my hubby to get out before they got him! have you spoken to your doctor or the pharmacist about this type of reaction? is it normal?

No not yet. I don't think I need to now. My tolerance has built up so that I'm not confused anymore. It keeps my anxiety down which keeps me from flipping.

Dear PQ, You may want to let your doctor know that your medicine is causing you confusion. Maybe this medicine can be replaced with something else. I hope things get better soon.

This happened to one of my aunts friends also that was on the same medication combination you are. She talked to her doctor and got the doses switched a little bit and now does not have those problems anymore! talk with your doctor and they can help you find the right dosage and combination to take!

That is some high powered combination. How much of it is new meds? I have had meds make me think strange thoughts, but they were only short term treatments, actualy for pain. I hope you get used to them quickly, and safely.

that medication is extremely strong and confusion or impaired judgement is a side effect. Web sources also say that driving could be dangerous, that you should tell your doctor about the side effects and as him it if it is say to drive. Remember that substance is in your system even if you took the medication hours before.

it definitly sounds like you need to adjust to the meds. It's been four days since you typed this so I hope things are evening out for you. If not, you need to talk to your doctor. My mom was on some meds that made her see things that were not there etc. They just were not right for her.

I have tried Ambien before and that is probably what made you so sleepy and falling back asleep on the toilet. I hope you get these meds figured out and can tolerate ones that wll help you. You should see some change in a couple of weeks. Hope it goes well for you.

He is giving me this to keep me from switching Bun. I have lots of anxiety and my other personalities are driven by anxiety, it appears. I'll see how I get in a few days. In a few days I can cut back on the Klonopin and then well see if I do better. He wants me to take it twice daily for a week and then drop back to as needed.

Wow i can never imagine that this medicine is actually prescribe. Are you not afraid that you could do something bad to yourself eventually? I hope you'll get used to this soon. I'm amused by the Indians stuff that you mentioned it would be nice if you just actually imagined them yourself notbecause of the meds..
