There is at least one TV set in just about every house

Indirectly I often observe and notice that every house is equipped with at least one TV set in different sizes. The biggest TV sets with its modern type are usually owned by the well-off, while people of low income only have the old type--the ones with swollen back part and very heavy to carry.
TV programs have become daily entertainment for all houses. Even those who are homeless can still enjoy the TV programs. The villagers have TV in their houses so that they know what is happening around the globe. TV news and programs have also influenced the villagers' attitude. They now become the followers of the people they watch on TV--lifestyle, technology, and whatnot.

That's true my friend. TV becomes a primary entertainment mode almost in every house. 
At least, when one has a TV, the family gets to watch together. It's a cheaper way of entertainment than watching movies on movie theaters which is costly.

I actually have none in where I live right now, and I don't really miss it. There was a time in my life that I would spend several hours sitting and watching TV and I'm glad I was able to get off that habit. I don't think it's bad to have them, we just have to control our time with it. Having no cable connection, most of the local shows are not that good anyway. If I ever watch TV now, it would mostly be just the news channel.

I don't watch TV either unless there's good news to keep tabs on. My wife and children do. They spend most of their time watching it when they are home. They urge me to buy a flat screen TV like our neighbors have. I just told them that we had to make do with what we have righ now.

I have always wanted to own a flat screen myself. Not really for watching TV though. It would be for movies and for console games. In fact, I remember, I have once thought that all my myLot earnings should be saved to afford a flat screen for myself. I don't see that coming true now because I have set my earnings for a different goal.

Flat screens are now the in things in my place. Sometimes I feel left behind when I see that most neighbors already have that flat screens.

I have gone through periods of time where I have not had a television. I was good with that. Now, we have two televisions; we will likely have one in the next place as well simply because it comes with the place.
I think I would be fine to going back to being without a television. I have known a number of people who don't own televisions. Of course, none of them would be considered the average American.
In 2006, the U.S. hit a milestone. That was the year that the nation crossed the threshold where the average house now has more televisions than people.

Yanza, you are right nowadays watching TV had been a popular entertainment at home. I have TV set at home, too. Only that we seldom watch TV recently since the channels in my area here is not so clear. It makes me and my family don't have the interest to watch it. Most of the time, we are using the TV to watch DVD since it is very clear and the picture is large. It is suitable for my granny, who have eye-sight problem.

TV has influenced the decision making and the ideas of individual attached to it. It is a very powerful tool of social interaction between individuals. My country has 3 biggest networks competing in ratings and TV programs to be provided to their avid viewers. I myself is a constant viewer of local news program of a particular channel and believe me, the opinions that the anchors shares greatly influenced my day to day activities...

actually i am not watching the tv that i was watching before. most of the time what happen if i got time then i am spending my time in internet. but now TV became popular in common people and also poor people. they spend most of their time infront the tv .

I think it is because they have nothing else to do outside, so watching tv has replaced magazine reading which people used to do in the past. By watching TV, people can get in touch with the latest news and information. However, TV programs in my country have become so dull due to the programs having been overwhelmed with boring, and unecessary celeb news.

Back in 1970s yes that was when only a few people had TV sets in their houses. I also still remember going to my neighbors to watch tv. How poor i was at that time not being able to buy TV.

you know what in my childhood i can remember in my village very few people have the TV. but in my house there was no TV there. so to watch TV programs we had to move other peoples house. sometimes we are scold by them because a huge crowed was gathered there to watch TV. at that time TV was costly. even a black and white TV also. so now everything has changed. every body has TV in their house like the radio was used before.
