Do you thank someone

who awards you with a Best Response? I was thinking about this one today-I'm going through and resolving my discussions (quite tedious) and I just realized, it's been a very LONG time since I received a Best Response notice. Every time I've received one, I made sure to thank that person. I think now I'm just not on myLot enough to write answers that warrant Best Response (or I answer one that already has one designated). So tell me: Do you remember to thank someone who gave you a Best Response?

No, I am kinda like you. I am really busy and sometimes I don't remember to give a Best Response for the discussions I start. I don't really check the replies that I give for discussions to see what replies that I get a Best Response on. But now I will check on my profile to see what reply that I get Best Response on so now I will thank them.

I was reminded about the Best Response because of another discussion I encountered. I realized that I was neglectful and either didn't respond or didn't do my part by marking a Best Response and resolving it. I'm going to do my best to follow through now. Thanks for the suggestion about checking my profile to see if I had a Best Response.

Of course I would be grateful to the members of myLot for giving me the best response. Because he appreciated my thinking.

it's not all the time that i give thanks when i receive best response. though it is stated in the guidelines, we are just appreciative of the award. but just saying thanks to the best response award do not earn us anything, so when we do, we add something more to the thank you's if we still want to earn.

I knew that I wouldn't be rewarded for merely thanking someone-that alone could be a discussion ended. I like to craft another couple of questions, to continue the conversation. MyLot is a series of conversations among members, don't you think? Everyone is here, asking questions and sharing their opinions and experiences. I think that's what the powers that made up myLot were trying to achieve, you know?

I haven't been here since very long time, but at the past and now I don't have this habit to thank to people who choose my response for the best between all. It's not like I don't appreciate being chosen for best responder, just before I didn't felt that comfortable to make small chats above the responses. I usually would go back and see if the poster responded to my participation in his/her discussion, also would reply back. But I don't check very often my "best responses" button, so if I have been chosen, I will get to know after some time

I finally accomplished wrapping up my old (3 to 4-year-old) discussions-if they had a response, I resolved it by quickly allowing the responder to have a Best Response award. Sometimes, it went on for pages; those were the days when people would continue on, "chatting" back and forth, like a real live conversation goes. Those discussions were much older; the newer discussions usually had one response. By doing so, I was able to get some sort of closure. I've also managed to come up with a few new ideas-totally unique and not recycled ideas of mine! I'm working out how I want to word them-I hadn't started a new conversation for months, but lately, I've actually done some thinking! When do you think you'll get back to your older discussions for review (and hopefully) resolve them?

It surely gives new ideas in our minds, when we read our own discussions from the past. I know what you are talking about, I have experienced it, it is amazing. For now I haven't got back to my old discussions, I have like 60 pages of them, some of them without any answers, some of them has answers ... I try to pick best response as soon as possible, I mean when the responses count a medium number, because after some time I may loose the vibes of the topic. It will make the picking of best response harder for me.

I am very sorry I see this question so late. Five days or so later. Well now when I have around 3-4 discussions posted, I do my best to resolve them.

When I got my first one I thanked the person because it was special. Any best response I get is special but I can't go thanking everyone. I just need to hope that they know I do appreciate the gesture and am glad I was helpful enough in answering their question or concern

Do you receive a lot of Best Response awards? I used to receive the designation at least once a week, but now I can't even remember the last time I received it. I make it a point to thank people because nowadays, one can't assume someone else knows what we're thinking!

I've only gotten 2 so far really. I find it hard to give best responses myself because there are just so many good ones in the discussion to me I can't choose. Could be why and a lot of newies don't know about it maybe as well

Riyauro, A Best Response is one that the author of the discussion (in this case, it would be me) decides that a particular response answers the question that is originally presented. If we continued to discuss this back and forth, commenting on it, you could end up with it. By mentioning you didn't know what it was, I'm continuing the conversation even though you didn't ask for the answer. MyLot is like a giant conversation. When you meet someone, you ask questions and they will answer back. Sometimes they won't, so to continue talking to them, you ask them another question. My suggestion is to ask questions when responding-it will help to continue the conversation, and that is how you earn more money. Best of luck here!

What a nice gesture binggaling! I don't usually share specific parts of the FAQs because I've found it's more interesting to forge forward on my own. If I happen to experiment with some of them, only me and me alone can be blamed if I happen to start an illegal discussion. I guess I'm not as nice because I don't do anything but direct a newbie to the FAQs.

Sometimes I am very remiss, like lately. I usually do not just go say "Thank you for the best response" but usually contribute a little more to the discussion if I am able to and then say thank you. I have not awarded them much lately either.

I'll do similar. Usually it's a LONG response to a topic and to merely say a simple Thank You seems inadequate. Guess some of us veterans are going to demonstrate how to properly thank someone if anyone happens to get a Best Response. Or is this the next generation of myLot participants that has fewer manners than their predecessors?

I will definitely do that if it is within my reach. Thanking someone for the BR just come naturally for me whenever i received the notice. Unless it is lost from my inbox. :=) :-)

I do not how to say this but I really do not know that my response was actually chosen as best. I just learned this week that I actually have four and I do not really remember if I was able to thank them. So after learning about this best responses tab, I usually visit them to see if I was chosen again so I can thank them immediately. I am actually very happy to see that some have chosen mine as best response. I guess that all of us would feel the same.

Congratulations Paper_Doll! MyLot notifications have been spotty at best the last few months (or years), and I think by visiting the Best Responses tab is the best way to check and see. Maybe I'll do that after I'm done answering this-I've been responding to notifications and resolving my old discussions (which is finally under a page!) Thanks for stopping by!

Yes I want to say many times thanks to the person who are selecting my response as best response. Because they are think my response is more valuable or good than others.

I do thank the person most of the times, however there are times when I just don't get around to it. I am always grateful though. It's always a wonderful feeling when I see that out of all the responses, the discussion creator considers mine the best.

That's ok Joseph-I used to be much more diligent in thanking those who rated my response as the best one of the batch! Of course, back then I didn't have a regular job or hours, and I spent a lot more time here on myLot. And you're right-I get a warm fuzzy feeling when MY response (or responses) are rated the best.

mrswhitfield, it took quite a few years for me to receive my first notice. I'm sure that if you continue to be diligent and post intelligent, thought-provoking responses that you'll be awarded with a Best Response! Keep at 'em!

Me too, I see to it to thank somebody of doing me a favor. I spend most of my time in the market so I have a great opportunity to meet strangers coming from different walks of life and to thanks them or even greet them in the street.

What market are you referring to-the supermarket, the stock market, or ? That's wonderful that you take a moment to extend thanks to others in the world around us!
