I'm just exhausted, and sore right now. We usually work 4 -5 hours as after you tend to get exhuasted, my boss has told us that is what we perfer so usually I work 5 hours as the job technically is part time. Noone showed yup today but me, so I had to do double the work. I put in 8.5 hours, and was dragging myself out of there. There still needed 8 more cases to be done for the order, which I believe is going out tomorrow. I wrote a note saying if he needs me to finish them I can come in early tomorrow morning, just call me. But the fact all of them were complaining they needed hours and money now when he has a large delivery they either dont answer his phone calls, or say they are busy. But I can't complain it means more money in my pocket.

Your coworker's laziness if more jingle in your pocket; make that money while it's hot. A few days of soreness now will yield years of comfort in the future. Make that money, Ricki.

I agree, since its seasonal work come September the season is over. I see the futuree, and responsibilty. The others that work there simple dont have responsibility or the concept of working so they take days off. I try to work around my boss schedule for exmaple if we have a big delivery I wont take a day off. Over the summer I was working basically every day, and I take random days off when I know Im tired such as last Monday I was just exhausted so I took my afternoon job off and he didnt mind since I worked 3 weeks straight up to that date. The funny thing is Im looking for another job, as I want to get out on my own, and know it wouldnt cover everything.

You are definitely right that working extra hours means that you will have a bigger paycheck. However, it never seemed right to me that when other people didn't bother to show up to work that the people that do take responsibility in their work are the ones that have to work their tails off. When I worked at the hospital, it was pretty common for people to not show up to work and I would actually give myself anxiety attacks about the fact that I never thought that I was being fair to my patients.

So you worked like you would in a full-time job today, so you could expect similar salary for it. :) If not, you should really do something about it, if you will, then be happy and take a rest until you next workday. A lot of ppl around the world dreams about having a 8 hours/day full-time jobs. About the note: You should talk about suspending your current cases with your boss before leaving, as it might be important. I think you should finish it and write a note, that you done some extra, and could you come later tomorrow. The same payment/worktime, but a much better work result. :)

although you have got to work extra hours, you are rewarded with more pays. At my place, a normal working hour would be eight hours to ten hours. At some places, part time worker needs to work the same long hours will little pay. I worked part time at a book store and I was asked to work for eight hours a day with a day off. By the end of the month I only got paid for less than a hundred thirty us dollars. Really low pay that was.

That sounds like a long day. Maybe you should ask for a raise since it sounds like you are their only reliable worker?

I know what you mean about the money. One of my part time jobs has been slow, so I volunteered for extra hours at the other one this week. Someone was going on vacation and they had not found anyone to fill the gaps. It means a couple of short nights, but about thirty five or so hours this next week.

What's that saying? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth? Or something like that. It pertains to your coworkers they wanted more hours, they asked for it and now they are backing out.. Well more hours for you but I bet you will be sore tomorrow! If he has you come back in that'd be great monetarily.

this kind of opportunity does not come everyday, so when it is there, you must grab it. Find yourself lucky . have a good day
