I think the commitment is a promise to myself to keep something.

If I am in a committed relationship I am not looking for the next one. Oh, and in my way of thinking I am monogamous. No cheating, plan to be there long term.

Hi GG...to me it means that both parties are committed to the relationship...not just one half.

I think the difference is that some folk live together and share some things and take their relationship day by day. When in a committed relationship, folk will share everything and make plans to have a long term future together. That's basic of course. To each his own.

Yes..If I am "with" someone...I'm committed. I guess I might be old fashioned but if I am seeing someone on a regular basis, that is pretty much committed for me. If I found out someone else was in the mix, I would briskly move on.

commited to me means that you are dedicated to that one person loyal to them in every way you put all of your energy into making that relationship work you make sacrifices for the sake of your partners happiness and trust that they will do the same for you My husband and I have been commited to one another for 15 years now yes there have been hard times , yes we have both thought about giving up but we stayed with it and worked it out because we are commited to each other and this marriage

As long as you happy you might as well be with the person and no one else.

To me being committed means there is a time in a casual relationship when two people decide to date each other exclusively until one or the other or both decide to terminate the relationship or wish to remain together till the end of their days. This applies to marriage as well. The only difference between dating and marriage is, that marriage makes the commitment more serious as it is done legally and officially in front of others and it is far more difficult and expensive to terminate.

That's true, and that's why I won't get married again. been there done that once was enough. We've been together for 10 years now and neither 1 of us wants to get married again
