I went to a private school when i was in high school, it was a pure catholic school, strict in its own terms and the education was really that quite well.. the nuns were the ones running it. See in that school even non catholics are accepted too, i have classmates of different religion and beliefs and they are accepted given that they follow the rules and regulations of the school, they signed a waver which states that it is a strict catholic school that focuses on catholic teachings. I could remember things were smooth back then, we get along with our brothers and sisters who are Muslims. My close friend is Muslim and she was our valedictorian. So why am i saying this? lately we have been hearing and seeing in the news that our Alma Mater is being accused of being racial, prejudice to Muslims! Which i could not believe. The reason was that a student, Muslim wants to wear a Hijab, the cloth that they put on the top of their head... but the school does not allow it, as well it is a Catholic school and that was part of the agreement in the first place, that they follow the school's rules. See this student got all rebel and told her uncle, who is a city councilor! They had this rally against the school saying the school is racial and prejudice..and had all negative propaganda against the school. which in return, we alumnae, alumni..feel bad as we know that it is not true and that we never had this problem. That councilor was even saying that the school does nto give fair chance to Muslim to be in the honor roll. Which is outrageous as my close friend who is a muslim became our valedictorian! See? some people like that councilor creates gap between us here. Back then, we had no problems, no one was boycotting, no one was mad at each other... no one was even bullying! Now? they removed their kids in that school..but the school need to stand to its policy and its regulations which has been there for years. A friend of mine, also from that school made this facebook ad, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3554140419742&set=a.3554140379741.2134014.1459639524&type=1&comment_id=2173874&ref=notif¬if_t=photo_comment_tagged&theater , it is an ad that we wish that would not worsen the problems in our Alma Mater.

That sounds like discrimination. Why won't they allow a simple culture on their end. It's not like the cloth will ruin the whole image of the school or something. That's just plain nasty.

I am not sure if it is front, as if it is discrimination then the school should not have accepted muslims and other religion in that school.. plus our valedictorian in my batch is a muslim and she never really had problems with our ways too.. she was even open about us and even knows all our prayers.. and she is now a doctor.. except just this issue. The school stated the policy quite clear from the beginning as it is really a strict catholic school from doctrines and all.

It is true that some people like to cause trouble. It makes no sense, you sign that you agree it is strictly a Catholic school, and then you want to change the rules. Unfortunately it is the same everywhere. I imagine there is a superior education at that school so some want in. Good luck.
