Do you have any long term travel goals? Do you know which places you are going to visit in the future (several years from now)? Or do you plan your trips just before you want to travel? I have enough travel plans for the rest of my life I want to visit Asia first, then I want to go South America, Central America and the US and Africa and I have already picked out the countries that I want to visit in South America, Central America and Africa Those trips are going to take place many years from now (if I ever manage to save up the money for all of them) I haven't made detailed plans for those trips, but I have written down the names of the countries.

I also travel with my love. In the past I have travelled alone, but I haven't done that since I met my husband. Today we always travel together and I am very happy that we are both interested in travelling because that gives us the chance to explore new places together. Like you I would love to visit the US and South America. I would also like to visit some of the countries in Central America, but I would probably go to South America first because there are a lot of countries in South America that I am interested in visting. First of all I am going to Asia and then I will try to save up the money for the other trips.

yeah i know, the feeling when you cant enjoy when you are not with the one you love. yeah south America would be great. it would be an adventure, i am sure because of the language. i remember when my boyfriend and i went to China, most people there can't understand English. so either we are entertained through sign languages or just ignored hehehe but it's okay we really enjoyed our time together. the people are nice too yeah i need to save up too. i need a better job. i hope i can find one very soon.

Yes, I, like everyone else who has responded here, have a whole list of places I'd like to visit. Top on my list, maybe the next place I'll go, is El Salvador. I usually just pick a place and go, as long as my husband wants to go there too. However, he likes to go places that he can drive to, namely through the United States (we live in Canada). I prefer the "sunny south" with Cuba being one of my favourites. I'd like to go back to visit Cuba again but there are so many other places I'd like to see first. As always, money dictates.

I have thought about visiting El Salvador when I go to Belize, Guatamala and Costa Rica, but I don't know yet. I am not going to visit Central America in the near future. Have you been any of the other countries in Central America? My husband wants to go to Cuba, he just talked about that today. I would like to surprice him with a trip to Cuba one day. As far I know you need a visa to visit Cuba, but I hope that we will still be able to go there. Right now we are planning our trip to Asia, so the other trips will have to wait as it will take us a lot of time to save up the money for those trips.

In 2006 I had my favorite trip and it began with a cheap trip to Cancun in Mexico. On it I was able to go to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I loved that trip and came home with ideas of visiting other countries in wonderful Central America. I am so keen to visit Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. In 2004 I visited the Seychelles and it felt like a perfect destination. I do so adore tropical islands. I wish to visit similar destinations like Mauritius which I still haven't managed to visit. Funnily enough in 2005 I ended up visiting the Maldives. I visited the Caribbean coastline of Colombia in 2011. I wished so very much to come back to wonderful South America and am lucky because I managed to go to Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay this year. It was lovely to see my dear friend in Chile and see the waterfalls in Argentina. Wow! It was ever so special to visit Rio in Brazil. I still haven't visited the Inca place in Peru and wonder if I will ever afford to. I also haven't been on a cruise around the Galapagos Islands yet. I wish. Realistically I might reach Egypt, India and the Philippines in the next three years. I do hope to be able to visit Central America again. Flight prices are at an all time high due to oil prices, extra security measures and the recession. Airport tax on my last overseas trip came to more than one thousand pounds. I can't plan in detail but hope Mauritius in on my travel list of future destinations. Good luck with reaching all the places that you hope to.

You have visited so many interesting places and in is always inspiring to read about your trips. Central America and Central America are among the places that I want to visit after Asia. In South America I want to go on trip to Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil and another trip to Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. In the Central America my first priorities are Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica and maybe El Salvador. I am especially excited about visiting Costa Rica as I have a friend from that country. We have been friends for many years, but so far I haven't had the chance to visit him. You mentioned that you might visit Egypt, India and the Philippines during the next couple of years. I have already decided that I am going to visit the Philippines on my second or my third trip to Asia. I look forward to visiting some of the places that I have read about. India is my "dream destination" and it has been that way for many years. I would like to combine a visit to India and a visit to Nepal.

hi porcospino. definitely have a lot of travel goals not just for myself but for my family as well. aside from what we had previously discussed... travel to hong kong, macau, vietnam and cambodia, i've got a couple more travel plans that came up recently. the most recent one is a plan going to singapore which my daughter had brought up last night. she knows that we have relatives who are living in singapore now and she casually asked how to get there. i mentioned that one needs to take an airplane to go to singapore and she mentioned that she wanted to go there to visit my uncles and cousins. i told her that if she did well in school and finish within the top three of her class, her prize will be vacation in singapore next summer. she was pleased with the idea and it seemed to be a good motivation fer her to do well with her studies. i'm actually in the process of making plans for this singapore trip. i'm printing out a pictures of famous tourist spots in singapore and actually writing up a 'contract' between myself and my daughter about our 'deal'. i think it is important to put things like this in writing and put visual reminders for myself and my daughter. i've also alloted one of my existing bank accounts as our official 'singapore fund'. hopefully, this pans out right and i think this will be a good bonding experience for me and my daughter. another travel goal is an upcoming trip with my friends this august or september to a province here in the philippines. nothing special or too costly. just a short road trip to a province here known for its hot springs and mountains. i'm going with the same set of friends whom i went out with to of to talisayin cove. i actually started a discussion here about possible vacation spots that i want to visit. here is the thread, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2644289.aspx. so far, after that trip to talisayin cove, i'm unable to take a vacation again because of a number of things. anyway, looking at the last quarter to have those trips to any of the local spots i've mentioned in my other thread. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I think that a trip to Singapore will be an excellent motivation for your daughter You will get the chance to visit relatives and explore Singapore and you and your daughter will be able to enjoy the trip together. I hope that you will write a discussion about your trip when you return. I have never been to Singapore, but I plan on visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia on the same trip (some time in the future) I did read a bit about Singapore already, but my trip won't take place in the near future, so I didn't plan the details yet. Your trip with your friends sound interesting. It is really nice to go on some short trips every once in a while and visit another place. My friends and I haven't been able to visit many places this summer, because I have been busy with with work, but I might get the chance to visit some islands in the last part of August.

hi porcospino. thanks for the best response tag. appreciate it a lot. the trip to singapore will definitely push through. i've already started saving up for it and i bring up the trip to my daughter every chance i get this early so she is reminded of the matter. the local trip that i'm planning to take with my friends is indefinitely postponed. weather has been very bad here in the country and its been only the past two days that we've had good weather. most of the city and neighboring provinces have been flooded and up to now, there are still areas that have flood. we will push through with the vacation but still unsure when it will happen. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

i don't have a clear plan when i am going to travel, i will seek for a spot i want to go, and then i would go. my plan is not clear. becuase i like freedom and i think making plans before you travel is boring and it will take you a lot of time, so as for me, i never make plans, if i travel alone, i will enjoy my travel. and if i travel with a group, i don't need to make a plan by myself

I think it is true that you have more freedom when you don't make a lot of plans. When I travel I sometimes make plans in advance and sometimes I don't make plans. One time I went to Budapest without planning anything. I simply went there and when I arrived I decided how I wanted to spend the time. I enjoyed the freedom and the flexibilty of that trip. Sometimes I choose to plan things in advance. I don't feel that it is boring to make plans before I travel. I like to read travel books and pick out the places that I want to visit. I am reading about my next at the moment and I enjoy learning more about the places that I want to visit.

I love to travel only I don't have a chance because of lack of money to spend on my travel. I love to go around places and nature. For now I like to travel anywhere to have a job. At my status now I know only outside the country will accept me to have a job.

I hope that you will manage to find a job. What type of job are you looking for? Unfortunately it takes money to travel. I wish that we both had lots money to spend on travelling. I would be so happy if I had enough money to travel around the world, that is my ultimate dream. Unless I win a lot of money that won't be possible, but I still dream about it

You have lots of interesting travel goals. When I visit the US I also want to see the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. I haven't made detailed plans for our US trip, but there are some places that I already know that I am going to visit like Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, California, Florida, New York etc. I think that Paris could be an interesting place to spend some months, I have been there as a tourist, but I once thought about living there for a while. Italy is a beautiful country. I have lived in northern Italy and I sometimes miss the time that I spent there. I have only seen a small part of Greece and I want to visit Greece again. I hope that you will manage to visit all those places and the wonders of the world

I'm curious what countries in Africa do you want to visit as I have done most of them before I got married and want to redo them again. I have a long list of countries I want to visit but we shall see what order they come in as it depends on specials perhaps on hotels and in general when I find the time to go out and take a short vacation.

Some countries in Africa are easier to visit than others because I don't need a visa and I have decided to visit those countries first. In Northern Africa I would like to visit Morocco and Tunisia. In Western Africa I would like to visit the Gambia and maybe Senegal. In Eastern Africa I want to visit Kenya and in Southern Africa I want to visit South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Malawi. I am also interested in Ghana, Mali, Egypt, Ethiopia and Tanzania, but I can't visit those countries without a visa, so it will be a bit more complicated and expensive to go there. It is interesting to hear that you have visited many countries in Africa and I would love to hear more about the countries that you visited and your experiences there. Which countries did you like the most and why? And which countries do you want to visit again?

Europe would be an interesting place to visit. There are many countries and it is easy to get from one country to the next. You can buy an interrail pass and travel from place to place without spending a lot of money. I have never been the US or South America, but I think dream about visiting those places in the future. I can imagine that you have a lot of interesting and beautiful places to visit in China. If I can get a visa to China I want to visit your country in the future.

My immediate plan is to fix my motorcycle and go visit some friends that just moved away. Not very far, just 400km from my hometown. As for other countries, they have to wait for some time.

It is great to hear that you have had the chance to visit China and Europe as well. Which countries did you visit in Europe? The great wall and the Taj Mahal are also on my travel wish list. I hope to visit both places in the future. A trip to the US is also one of things that I dream about. I want to visit some of the places that I have heard about and I think that it would be amazing to travel around in the US for several months and visit many different states. I think that it would be easy to spend 2 or 3 months that way, but it would take a long time to save up the money.

I hope that you will get the chance to visit your family in the US You also mentioned Paris and some of the European countries. Paris is a interesting place to visit. There are lots of things to see and do. I have been there in the past, but I have only seen a small part of the city. Which of the other European countries are you interested in visiting? I live in the Western Europe and many of the other countries in Western Europe like Spain or Italy are very popular among the tourists, but there are also many interesting places to visit in the Eastern Europe.
