Almost everyday crimes are being committed either locally or foreign. We read it on newspapers and heard it on evening news. The sad thing is, most of the perpetrators are minors or under age. This is not common locally but also in other countries. Would you agree with me, that this crimes are being patterned on what was shown on the movies, television or some magazines easily accessible to minors. Your opinion guys...

Well, a lot of people watch movies and some of them are bad people waiting for scenes that would help them in their crimes. We can't really stop it, since they can't control who watches the movies..

Strict compliance of parental guidance especially in movies. Another factor that contributes to the alarming rise of crimes today is due to poverty. Broken family and influenced from troublesome friends can be added too.

I think media is a big factor in this. It plays a really big part in the youth today. It's quite alarming! The children nowadays are exposed to violent movies, series, and magazines. I hope parents restrict them from watching too much of these.

Definitely they have a part too especially the tabloids. Most of them have catchy pictures and their headline news are printed in bold letters that easily catch the attentions of the public, even the younger people are tempted to read. Same with the violent movies that are shown in movie houses and sometimes in television. Closer guidance and supervision of parents is a must.

It is really dangerous world. A lot of people just don't want to work hard and rob other decent people who are having good jobs. We have to be careful with ourselves. We should know how to protect ourselves

Yes, it is. As if our world is just beginning, the weak got trampled by the stronger being, more like survival of the fittest. I think unemployment and poverty is the reason why some individuals do such things. We could also add greed and the materialistic nature of man.

this crimes are being patterned on what was shown on the movies, television or some magazines easily accessible to minors. I absolutely agree with this point. I am not sure who we should blame but they need to be taught what's good and bad things can come from these materials. But it seems that no one concern about it and just the kids with get around these things.

Could I say the progress and development of an area or country can also contributes to the rising crime rates. Greed, obsession and materialistic nature of man is a factor too. Parental guidance, teaching good values to their children and putting more teeth in our laws by our lawmakers could do the job or at least minimize it.

This has been a problem since time immemorial. The government is doing its best to minimize those crimes, we have many laws regarding crimes and abuses. I only hope that thse are properly implemented and observed. As parents or adults with kids, we must be there always to guide them especially the things they watch on TV, videogames they played, adult magazines should be out of reach to them. It's so dangerous out there, and they are so vulnerable that they can be easily stimulated and aggressive. Let's us be there most of the time for them and ready to deal with there problems. Thanks

My guess is, these acts can not be corrected by just enacting many laws to scare those who have criminal minds. Also some of our laws have loopholes that defense lawyers may use to delay conviction or acquit their clients to conviction. Proper guidance from parents, teaching good moral values to their children and setting an example of a good law abiding citizen could help lessen these incidents.

I was quite surprised also, this year I saw about 5 crimes already ,and it not normal, I am not really use to getting into stressful like seeing an old lady's earrings pulled from her ear or guy in motorcycles getting bags from bystanders, it just happened to me this year. I hope the government solve this crimes before it gets out of hand and people starts getting hurt. I think most of these crimes in our country is related to their poor status and 32% percent of the population are even below poverty line, well what will they eat if they do not do something, so they just do dirty works

You have actually saw and witnessed some crimes committed. It's really scary because even though in your mind you want to help but you can't do anything. Crimes today are getting bolder and bolder even committing it in front of many people. Yes, poverty is one of the factors, also unemployment.

I guess that's one problem, some parents don't know where their children are. Maybe some of them are left or look upon by their relatives or other people because some parents works overseas or in foreign land to support their families.

Children are apt to emulate what they see, and without proper guidance, they would emulate the wrong people. Although there are other factors why young people are committing crimes, I however agree with you that what is being shown on movies and television or read in magazines and other periodicals does indeed influence these minors to engage in criminal activities. Some say that curtailing the freedom to show or publish materials may solve this problem, but I still feel that proper upbringing would reduce crimes committed by minors.

Yes, being children some of them may imitate what they have seen in the movies or other mediums. And without proper guidance they could easily fall into doing the same bad things they have seen in movies. Technology and other things that helps us to improve our living standards can be considered an advancement but let's not forget that all things that is too much is also not good. I agree with you that proper upbringing especially by their parents would help to lessen criminal incidents committed by minors.

Yes, you are absolutely right. One of the surporising common features of these captured ciriminals have certain common features. Initially, they will be so resistant and once they found that they have no escape, they will agree to it and they come with their own justiication for it. The crime rate is increased a lot and to an extened many are not a planned criminals and forced by circumstances. Here for the last 3-6 months, many such criminal activities (with different nature) has occured and many of them were caught by the police. One is so shocking, the film actress along with her mother, younger sister, younger brother and 2 other family members were killed and burried in the same grave! It was happend a year and half before and last week the criminal pointed out where he burried all of them. It was jsut for some additional money. There are so many, that we are awere of and million of such crime we were not known also... So pathetic and pity on the victims...

Day by day the crime rate is increasing, every day we hear about some shocking news about various crimes. Most of the time News papers, TV, Radio, internet and other medias carrying this kind of crime news and deliver it to people. Some of the criminals are Minors and doing this kind of crimes due to the impact of cinemas in their life. But this kind of excuses are not a valid one. The person who did the crime activity is deserved for the punishment. Tv, cinema, internet and other medias provide various kind of information, this kind of crime information is also one among them. We must take the good things from the technology items and avoid the bad things. But some persons getting impact with this kind of crime news and interested in doing same thing in their life, which made little boys to made some unwanted things in their life and they point out the media for their mistake. We have the ability to avoid this kind of crimes. Don't take bad things as your role model and avoid getting impressed with the smart idea of the criminals. Each and every crime is reserved with some punishment and all the persons who are involved in the criminal activities is deserved for the punishment, if the criminals keep this in their mind, surely they can avoid doing such kind of things in their life. It is the only solution to avoid this issue.

If we analyze or examined how some of these crimes committed, we can not deny the fact that some of them have a resemblance to crimes being shown on some movies. I don't say that crimes portrayed in those films gives ideas to the soon to be criminals. I guess it depends of the person, how he/she views or appreciate the film. I think the best we could do especially the parents, is to always look after their children and teach them good ethics/moral values.

yeah it is true that crime today are done by minors. Just last month three boys went to the church and dug the cemetery and took 9 skulls and put at certain locations of the island. 6 at somebody's residence, 1 and school gate and 2 in the post office. It was a big issue here. they destroyed the crosses on the graves. Later the boys were caught. all minors. and it their own church where they go every sunday. It is very alarming.

Yeah, it's really sad that some minors are more bolder doing stupid things today than before. Easy access to almost everything like internet, media and others could be considered a factor to the rising incident of crimes today. Another thing is, some of this minors are being used by syndicates to do the job for them.
