My Observation About Mylot

Your observation, have a point. Although not entirely agree. I rarely, watching things like that. The important thing for me, I enjoy the discussions on myLot. And I try, to not break the rules of MyLot.

There... I hit the best response button for you. But you are absolutely right, and a lot of the questions are so trivial and uninteresting. There are some good writers doing this kind of thing but they are mostly on Knoji. Think of some ancient sage and start a new line of questions and answers.

i did notice things are a bit slow but i am hoping things will be better as the hot tab and today's top is working again.

wow.. can i share my observations too about mylot?? i believe mylot is not usual website for their loyal member mylot had created a warm community where some of their member enjoy some discussion here, relax when making discussion and pleasure when their friend give respond and helps them...

You are right. Actually I only receive few responses with my recent topic and I admit made me feel a bit upset...but..so be it. Maybe everyone is busy and seldom come mylotting these days. Although I am also busy with other sites, I never miss the chance of mylotting... Good to see you again

visavis: That is the interesting aspect life and mylot also. What is interesting for one is not interesting for another person. Further when topics are related to some countries others do not post--for example power grid failure in India -- this topic may get a few responses from Phil. But a topic like stress in worklife has got more responses from phil. Your observation that "Best response" selection is not done by many members is right. Even I have 30 discussions pending for which I have to decide the best response.

I have gotten "best response" quite a few times. I'm not very active and can make payout every month. To me, some topics are rather boring BUT they are interesting to the person posting them. If I'm not interested, I just don't respond. What do you mean by: "I never seen again a topic that can say blockbusters"

I've never seen a discussion hit that many responses either. You will see some duplicate topic types just because there is not always a way of knowing if you're starting something that already exists. Sure, you can use the search tab and look for key words, but if someone doesn't use the same tag it won't come up.

Sometimes it may take a few days or more for topics to have 40-50 responses. Sometimes a very good topic, an educational one at that, can't even get past 10 responses while some very trivial ones receive lots of responses. But I agree with you that there are lots of 'recycled' ones. Most however were posted by newbies which I think is very likely to happen since they haven't seen the older posts. YES! ALL TRUE! In my own observation. I am not always active in my lot but from what I've noticed ever since I've started here is that all you've mentioned are true. But then I really don't care about it especially about topics that repeats. When something happens to me recently that I'd like to share to mylotter and discussed it here, right after posting it, I noticed that same topic was discuss about a month, a year or so. Maybe it just happen that I had my experience came late to those who experienced it first or as you might say.... But what really matters to me is my earnings here in mylot. It's very slow and so small. I hope that in the future, more active mylotters will have bigger earnings...

There are certain topics reached more than 40 responses. There are not many but there still get many responses.The number two is absolutely right. Most of the discussions are re-cycled. I don't like it either. I always see the best response even if it's not in all discussions I have seen and there were some hot fantastic discussions made by the older members but it's so rare.(^^)

Nice observation and I agree with you. But now a days I not observe any new thing in mylot. Because I am not paying attention on other things other than discussions and responses.

I do notice your observations too, especially item number 2. Also, before I see great discussions with a lot of responses in the highest rated discussion. Now I think that the highest rated discussions have lesser responses than before. I don't know but maybe it is on the perspective. Like you, I am not on mylot as much as before. So seeing my activity dwindle down compared to before, such observations can come up easily. Observations become more accurate if done continuously in a consistent manners. Since our activity is inconsistent, some biases can occur during the times that we log in and observe. A lot maybe happening when we are in and we don't have the opportunity to observe that one. So to sum up, I can see that you have made a point, but I think that the points raised only has around 60-70% accuracy. Don't ask me where I got those numbers. They just popped out of my head.

I am just here a little under year but I have received several "best responses" and I have seen a few discussion with lots of responses.. I may just be a little slow, but I just don't get the point...I mean since I've been here it is what it is, and I like being here and the " I never" observations/complaints just have not come to mind.. I am aware that everyone is entitled to there own opinion but I just don't understand..are you saying that the 4 things you mentioned that is missing from my lot makes a huge impact on the site???

i would agree! :) yes i have observed that... But you know, i cannot blame them that had made a popular discussion, they are really good! and i'm not good like them so i don't feel bad about it :) that's why i'm trying my best to improve my discussions and responses. Well, we don't have to be like them that good! We are all unique from each other and i know that makes the mylot more interesting! Let's enjoy mylotting!
