Total Recall: good or bad remake?

I saw the trailer just recently and just confirmed that this is a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie on the year 1990. I was still a kid back then but I remember the movie perfectly well. It was really a good sci-fi- movie. Complete with weird looking people and futuristic machines. Probably they updated some of the effects for this movie but I think the storyline is still the same. It's something to watch out for but you should take a look at Arnold's movie first before watching this one so that you can compare which is better.

Yes the right word for that movie of Arnold - Total Recall from story, effect and all are good - actually I have a CD of that movie included in my collections. Regarding the remake - I expected to level up in the effects and making of the new one because the advancement of technology now, you see the making of transformer compared to previous one from TV.... thats the modern effect now

you know now a days specially those remake movies - I always convinced to watch because of special effects. The power of technology now are the main factor in good movies.

yeah..u can imagine TRON 1982's special effect compares to the recent TRON LEGACY..whoahh.. makes tron 1982 unwatchable and unberable to sit and see..lol but ofcourse TRON 1982 is a classic and the film that kick started the whole CGI thing..

I cant wait to see this when it is released, I enjoy watching the original very much so I think that with better effects it will be great. But can someone really do it better then Arnold Schwarzenegger?

I think Arnold's portrayal of the character would be way better than Collin but the effects I think would be good.

I've also seen the trailer and it does seem that the effects are way better than the original one. I haven't read about the movie's plot yet but from the trailers shown, it's somewhat has a faster pace than that of Schwarzenegger's movie. Just the same, I definitely would want to see this remake of a movie regardless of whatever changes were made

a lot of remakes are coming out this year 2012..TOTAL RECALL, DREDD,ROBOCOP,MAN OF STEEL.AMAZING SPIDERMAN.. and colin farrell himself have played another remake recently in FRIGHT NIGHT..which was an almost exact remake of the 1985 vampire classic..

It really is not a good idea to remake what has made a mark in the history books. Very few remakes are as good as the original. Is is just like using a copier to copy a document and then copying the copy and again and agian. The copy becomes more fuzzy and ends up being nothing like the way it first started out to be.
