As we all now till now India is only able to win 2 medals(1 silver and 1 bronze) and standing on 32th position in the standing. So what do you think were we lagged. We have resources and talent as well but why don't we see our flag at the prize ceremony. There are a lot of sports in which India doesn't even get qualified.

This has been in the minds of all Indians. Somehow China and USA -- they are able to train people in different sports where you can get more medals --for example tennis means one or two only --whereas swimming, athletics, gymnastics etc. you have a lot of competitions and more medals. There is no specific reason for our people not winning except that opportunities for training in these sports are not many in India.

I'm afraid it's all down to the lack of investment in facilities and the cost of hiring renowned trainers. Britain has put a lot of money into the training of athletes and it had paid off.

Well great to see India getting its 2nd individual medal in this Olympics. i think the lack of quality coaches and infrastructures are the main reasons for this dismal performance. No doubt we have talent but the training strategy and the lack of world class coaches still haunts India even now. What say?
