If I will be elected president I will going to phase out all gas and diesel driven cars. And all cars will going to run via electricity only. I don't like cars that is fuel base simply because its generate lots of carbon and other toxic gases. But its seems theirs no government in the world who want to ban fuel driven cars and shift to electric cars. I'm hoping that someday all the cars are run via electricity.

I agree with you as well.. :) When the price of one fuel increases, people generally shift to cars which run on the other cheaper fuel ones.. But one day these fuel prices will also increase due to high demand of it.. And the cycle will continue, until all the fuel is exhausted.. Running on electricity is a good choice.. But tell me something.. How will the electricity be generated.. It will still use the fuels, though the emissions won't be as harmful as they are with the fuels.. :-|

Theirs so many ways to generate electricity. Right now the best bets are solar panel, windmill, sea waves and my favorite geothermal. I don't like nuclear power plant and fuel run generators. Because for me its defeat the purpose of running in clean energy.

I agree with you.. But what will you be using for storing the electricity..?? I guess batteries.. They will again require some fuel materials for the batteries to be made.. Though the consumption of the fuels would be reduced considerably.. :)

cars - An automobile, autocar, motor car or car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to eight people, to typically have four wheels, and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods.

The term motorcar has also been used in the context of electrified rail systems to denote a car which functions as a small locomotive but also provides space for passengers and baggage. These locomotive cars were often used on suburban routes by both interurban and intercity railroad systems.

It was estimated in 2010 that the number of automobiles had risen to over 1 billion vehicles, with 500 million reached in 1986. The numbers are increasing rapidly, especially in China and India.
If you think that you could save more with the use of electricity, then you're perhaps mistaken. When you're president and you stop people from using diesel and gas then you'd be increasing costs for the ONLY source (for your time) - the Electricity. I think what is good to do is to promote more electric cars with lesser taxation and help the manufacturers to have more raw materials at cheaper price-base. As of the moment, the world's fuel is oil and it's actually inexpensive but since only a few countries (and people) own them, they thought they'd have better lives by increasing the price of it. Therefore, it's about greed. So, if I become President (not that I can do anything much if I'm in the position) or perhaps let's go with "If I become powerful and filthy rich and influential in all the world" I would try to join the big players by promoting electric cars and other cars running on other things as fuel. Then I would set the pricing at par with oil so that they'll be playing on equal field. Thus, helping more people get more value for their money at the same time avoiding greed because there will be a lot of 'choices' - thus no more monopoly of fuel. Well, I guess it's free to dream but we all know that reality is more difficult to achieve. Have a great MylOt experience ahead!

I didn't say it was all fantasy, I just said that it would be difficult to do so in reality but no mention of impossible there. And besides, it would be difficult for the big giants of the fuel industry to just give way to the new generation of competitors. Yes, there are electric cars about, but they cost more than gas cars, why? monopoly.

It is a great dream but unlikely. First off the amount of fuel based cars would be very difficult to replace. Secondly the batteries used in electric cars are not only very expensive to produce which still limits the people that can afford them. Lastly the fact that many countries have outgrown their electric production,so countries have to buy electricity from neighbouring countries because they do not produce enough. Also most forms of electric production is highly damaging to the environment. That being said, just in air quality it would be interesting to see how much of a change only using electric cars would make in a city.

Yes. I do agree with your comments about getting electric cars. I think it really is important to get rid of diesel and gas cars because it really affects and hurts the environment with the driving of diesel and gas cars. I just hope there are electric cars coming out soon enough before it really is too late with the environment getting polluted.

Actually theirs already an existing electric cars but since theirs no government support this cars end up being so expensive. But I'm hoping with government support this cars will going to end up going cheap. Just like appliances. If its used by many its going to be cheap also.

Hi bulastika, Of course electric vehicles are best for transporation as far as green environment is concerned. But have you ever thought of the cost of using electric vehicles. Electric vehicles cost much more to operate than gasoline or diesel ones as the initial and running costs are just too high for the average consumer to bear. Also it is not so convenient to recharge one's vehicle as the infrastructure is not set up yet. That will take time and money. Hopefully one day soon all these obstacles can be overcome and we'll be all driving electric vehicles. So even if you are elected president now you won't be able to get your citizens to switch to electric vehicles unless you want to bankrupt your country.

i agree with you, i hope all cars are electric cars, it is good for our environment and our earth will become better, but to be honest, the electric cars have some disadvantages now, so not many people use them, they can't run as long as gas or diesel cars and it is hard to charge in some place. i think more people will use electric cars in the future, good luck!

That's true. that's why I want government support. lets face it. Who going to invest in electric car technology if theirs no buyer no demand? The funny thing is that we send carts in the moon and even in mars and guess what? they run via electricity. Because they know the electric cars is much better than fuel driven cars. But still the reason of higher price is simple. lack of government support.
