Yesterday facebook admitted that abouy 80million accounts are and out of which 46million accounts are duplicate. Rest are either pets account or some nonliving object account created by users. Yet it still has huge amount of people to surf on. In time since its 2003 inception at Harvard University, it has picked up the market since 2009 and made tremendous impact on people. Every company ever ads now have a white f with blue square logo on it as if facebook are their main sponsor. How come facebook dominated the market in such a great way. To make it interesting many features are either picked up from here and there. FB wall is like twitter. Most if I compare it with myspace would look same. People sharing info on wall. FB mania has also taken over the phase of lives too as most people just text their current info with a single message. What its like a current generation that use digital communication to be close with its close ones. How did people came to know about it so much. Why not people came to know much about myspace or Friendster. What could be its reason for its success.

It is all about getting acquainted. Facebook has been there for quite some time now and it has engaged tremendous number of users as well as firms and organizations as you correctly mentioned. It has huge percentage of youngsters involved in it. They have found facebook a very useful platform to share their views and status amongst their friends. It has provided us with enough attracting facilities for not to want for a change. We are comfortable with facebook and it has now become a part of our routine.

While in Russia they have another alternative to facebook and they don't use facebook for it. I don't remember the name but facebook reach and rank is low in that country because of that site.

In Fb, we are able to have a game and join our friends in their game. It is fun asking your friends to join them in their mafia and rob a group. It is also fun to clean up or visit someone's farm. FB make us young once more.

Facebook is remarkable because of its widespread usage and it has become practically an entity of today's society. It can be used as a marketing tool, social service, relationship matcher upper, broadcasting platform, and it can be found almost everywhere from phones to computers to TV's and the list goes on and on! It's incredible really how complex it's makeup it, yet it is extremely simplistic to use in comparison. This is why Facebook appears to be very interesting but it is very unproductive when it comes to valuable time.

Actually facebook kills useful time while some one is making billions out of billions pocket. Its true that FB maina has taken the world with a sudden and will die if some thing special takes it over. Just like friendster and myspace did to surround the web but soon ended with facebook.

It is appalling to hear that people have duplicate or fake accounts at Facebook. There are even news about people using Facebook to commit a crime (i.e., using a fake Facebook account and using it to lure young ladies to an eyeball or a fake modelling job) or to scam people (faking another account and soliciting money or selling products that won't bee delivered, but payment was already made.) Be that as it may, I loved the way Facebook reunited me with long-lost high school and college buddies, plus relatives I have never met personally. Facebook made them real and so near me even if we are oceans apart. I get to share in their adventures, their thoughts, their travels, their family their kids, and they could share in mine. I only know very few people who don't have facebook accounts. Even my friend's grandfather do some facebooking!! Facebook is very successful for a lot of reasons, and admit it or not, we do check facebook at least once a day (!), but we have to be very diligent and be on the look out for fakers and posers. We should also be responsible users. Avoid using Facebook to flame somebody and vent our anger through a shout out. Our outbursts will die down, but the meanness of our posts can hurt somebody forever.

I also admit that it is a world for scammers and fake jokers who try to lure people and do bad deeds for humans. Also Facebook has some privacy problems. If you post something it will be displayed to all of your friends, something that you don't want to share still float around your Facebook page, all problems with apps. It tries to take lot of information from a person profile may be that is reason for lot of scammers.

And as you go to collage you will have another account and when you go for work you will have still another account. That's what duplicity is all about. Unique for every thing for everyone.

I got into facebook, because I realize that everyone was in it...like all of my friends, and lost friends are there. So I guess that's one major factor for FB...everyone seems to be in it. And another thing I guess is the real time update...unlike friendster before.

I also joined something like this. What I remember is that I joined it because I heard this thing in news media that Facebook has many people where they can find lost friends or friends that are far apart. Earlier it seemed interesting but now it feels like some kind of time wasters phenomena.

I think it is so appealing for a lot of reasons. Firstly you can add photos and other pieces of info about your personal life. Secondly you can communicate with some of your closest family and friends, and even people whom you meet online. Also you can play games on Facebook, among many other apps. The bottom line is is it's a way to stay connected with loved ones. Some people have relatives far away from them so they communicate on social networks.

I admitted that I have couple account in there, cause we all know that many people do the same. They do it because they have personal and business life, and they want to separated it.

Ok so do you make friends with yourself so that if you miss some post you can see on other. By the way what about your friends who work with you and were with you during your school or collage life. Do you keep them separate too. In that case many people would have different account, one for friend, family, work, etc. etc.

It is interesting indeed but pet, duplicate, fake name accounts, I don't do that. I want to face my friends as I really am. Although they perceive me as somebody. In FB groups, they respect me and like my jokes not knowing that I am just a poor sick stricken old man..lol

lol but still you are running like your profile horse. Great. As for me I had duplicate accounts. I forgot password for my first account as I never logined for years around 2 years. So that include me in duplicated list.
