I know many people live in areas where its hot now. We moved last year to an area where its about 20 degrees warmer all the time and the fans are on a lot. My question is how do you cool your place? Do you have an air conditioner, bladed fan or one of the Dyson no blades fan? I know some of my neighbors have ceiling fans. My house has several bladed fans and I'm either getting another fan or an air conditioner soon.

I have an air conditioner, but it doesn't keep my living room cool. Every other room is just fine. So I have a little fan that I sit in front of when I'm in the living room. Unless I'm on my computer then I just turn the fan my way. It's hysterical. It's like six inches tall, and four inches wide. It stands on two feet and has a smiley face. But, it's all I've got so I'm thankful for it.

Sorry to hear its not keeping your living room cool. I am tired of the heat, as have a heat headache tonight. Have a good week. Thanks for posting.

I do have central air but also ceiling fans.....and for back up...some smaller ones. I keep the ceiling fan on in my dining room and bedrom all the time.

I think they are going to be on all the time now, as today I'm working so slow to me. Its hard to work when the house gets to hot. I'm not sure how people get use to it, as one of my neighbors mows the lawn in the afternoon heat.

Hello Fshmomma. When I lived in South Carolina every one had air conditioners. Some people had central air. We had central air but also did other things to keep the house cool. I would keep the patio door shades shut when the sun started to shine in the doors. We did have any ceiling fan but had a couple of box fans to help circulate the air. I also learned that the less clutter we had the cooler the house was.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know having more stuff makes the house warmer will have to lower the stuff soon. We moved in last year and still have a couple boxes to sort.

The only places I can think of that are real hot is AZ, TX, NV, UT, CA -where I live and OR. I have AC and 4 fans.

I live in Ca and it looks like another hot day is here now. My husband says I'll get use to the heat, but that isn't likely anytime soon. He isn't in the house during the day time and that is when its at its worst. Thanks for the reply.

I have central A/C although many people here in Ohio don't. We didn't used to need it when I was a child, we had fans and that seemed to be fine. Now I have an overhead in the living room and kitchen and a little fan in my office that I sometimes turn on. The pedestal fan in my bedroom is on every night. I don't think even cooling the air is comfortable unless it is circulating. I can't stand stagnant air. Like I told Elic, I think God every day for either A/C or heating. They make life so much more pleasant!

No question my fans are getting used a lot this year and I rarely used fans before when I lived near the beach. Its hard to believe that it could be so hot and I'll admit getting a lot of tomatoes. They sure are happy. Thanks for the reply.
