Everything comes to pass

Many years ago I heard of an elderly lady who claimed that her favorite Bible verse was; 'it came to pass'. At first, being young, I thought it amusing but later I came to understand her wisdom. Life is all about change and no matter how bad or good thing appear at the moment, it will change and to be willing to accept this is be on the path to contentment. Do you agree? Blessings.

I haven't heard of the Bible verse"it comes to pass".I reckon it exhorts people to adopt a forward-looking attitude in real life.Time passes swiftly like flowing water.Everything, whether it is bad thing or good thing, will be drowned by it, therefore we might as well forget the past and start anew apart from summing up some experiences.

Hi changjiangzhibin, It came to pass is a very common phrase in older versions of the Bible, especially the King James Version which was the most popular until the past few decades. It basically meant it happened. Thank you for responding. Blessings.

Hi Pose: Thanks for sharing with us this beautiful memory. That's a good teaching in just a few words. People can feel miserable so easily after a situation that is happening in their lives. But if we think without desperation we have to agree that everything, good or bad comes to an end and that we should try to be happy everyday even with some bad circumstance affecting us. ALVARO

I guess its like the old saying that things turn out the way they are supposed to...its hard sometimes when you are going through things to understand why it is happening....but later looking back well you can see how it came to pass!

I don't know much about that path to contentment. It may exist in retrospect, but I have found it to be a rocky road while we're traveling. It may be better to accept that there is a path and the one we are each on is what we need to travel in this life. It's also good to remember that the path is there, and it's our point of view which makes the rocks round and interesting or pointed and painful. Guess who's in charge of our point of view? Right, we are. Blessings

Hi savypat, Your observation is very wise, yet I think that accepting the fact that nothing lasts for ever can bring contentment, as well as a bit of excitement to our lives. Thanks for responding. Blessings.

hi dear Pose I am still playing catch up with all my mails and notifications but I am slowly getting there. When it comes to the not so nice events in life you always wish they would pass quickly but time then seems to refuse to pass. In good times you feel that time is flying too. Its wise to remind oneself that this time will pass.....I got to admit I do that in the not so nice situations and think that too shall pass.....

That is definitely true. I remember the beginning of the year all kinds of stuff happened around here, and then the end of January was my birthday, and we had a great time. Now this week has been nuts, with my landlords coming through for a surprise inspection, and the buses being messed up because of construction, causing us to have to pay cab fare to go anywhere, instead of the free bus service. Well, a week from now, we will be at Niagara Falls on vacation, so I guess everything really does come to pass.

Is it similar to nothing lasts forever? Everything changes, life is about change. Nothing is permanent in this world. Our troubles are temporary. It shall pass and we will all learn from that.
