Rude Doctor Rant

I had a doctors appointment on monday, and since I am 36 weeks pregnant, I will be going to see him every week from now until the baby is finally born. The good news is, the baby is head-down and ready to join us whenever he decides to. On to the rant. Now, I was supposed to take two childbirth classes for $25 dollars. (First day is just a class at the office, the second was a tour of the birthing center.) The doctor put my boyfriend in charge of signing us up for the next round of classes, which also happened to be the last before my due date. Well, we were forced to move out of the house we were currently living in and find a new place within a few weeks. Obviously, he just did NOT understand that I needed that $25 to go toward the deposit on the house we are moving into. He called me irresponsible for thinking that a house is more important than an OPTIONAL childbirth class. Anybody else had a similar experience with a doctor recently?

That was a rude comment made to you by your doctor. I don't think it's his choice to decide for you what's best for you when it comes to daily living. You have to do what you have to do and the doctor should understand. Some things are better left unsaid. So what I am saying is the doctor should have kept his comment to himself. Any doctor appointment I've had recently has been positive so I can't complain. Good luck to you.

Thank you. The next time I went into the office (yesterday, actually) he was SUPPOSED to be seeing me again, but I got his assistant instead (thank GOD!). She was very sweet, and there was nothing said about me missing out on the classes (until the doctor walked in the room to make sure she was doing my Group B Strep test right.)
