I finally met a lady that has 3 adult handicapped kids and we have been going to the movies for hte last two weeks. They wanted to see the Hunger Games. I had read the review and also the background on this new star that was the girl. I wasnt crazy about seeing it, but the kids wanted to so I decided to take them. I should have went with my first instinct. I am not into killing for survival. Of course this movie gave me realism flashbacks into when I served during Vietnam. I can say I saw it and personally I would not purchase this movie if they would give it to me. Hope others enjoyed it more than me. but I have seen real war and I guess these kinds of shows makes it so real again.

Hi jazel. I guess if you just view it as a movie maybe. Guess the military side of me struggled to see the survival part. And way to many memories for me. Have a good evening sweetie!

I didn't enjoy it much, although i do love their take on the future.. it does seem possible, since even now, youngsters are killing other people for survival.. I hope we won't reach the point of making money off people killing each other though.

Unfortunately since I have a medical past and read a lot, there have been people that will pay the highest dollar to have someone that is on life support for a internal organ. Its not new. I think a lot of people know its just not discussed. Once in a great while you will hear something in the news. you just have to catch it. if we go back to WWII to me the holoucaust paid a horrible price. I guess if a person studies history a lot, which I do, I guess a movie like this could be a raw spot. Thanks for your comments I appreciated them.

Thanks for that review. I've only ever heard that it's a "good movie". I don't have the opportunity to go to the movies and I generally fall asleep when I do go so I am always on the lookout for DVDs. I won't be worrying about watching this one now.

Honestly since you asked I thought the movie sent the wrong message of what can happen if people let it. You know Majority Rules. It could remind you or anyone of any war if they were part of one in their life time. Yes like you I would prefer a better movie. I think I will see a comedy this weekend with my hubby.

i like the movie too that I watched it again. the actress Jennifer Lawrence was good in making her role come alive and I admire her braveness. I could not wait for the second installment of the movie. I am glad you granted someones wish on seeing the movie.

Unfortunately I am not sure it was the right choice for their handicaps. Mom made the decision. I just took them and paid their way. the actress I read a review on. she is from Louisville, Kentucky and her parents are farmers and did not want to see their daughter go in to acting. I wonder what their reaction to her first movie was since it was this type. thanks for your response.
