Do you say Thanks for giving best response to you??

I have seen this in many discussions.
When somebody give best response to a person, the person who got best response will comment back as thanks for giving best response to me..
When you get best response do you have the habit of expressing thanks for choosing your response are best response?
And I have also heard that short comments like, thank you, good morning, have a nice day..etc should not be pasted much.. and the comments should be more descriptive..
So is it ok to comment back like thanks for choosing best response..
But I have never thanked for giving best response for my post..but many people have commented thanks to me for picking their response as best response..
So do you express you thanks for picking your response as best response?

Yes I always says thanks to those person for this honor who selected my response as best response. I think everyone should tell this word.

Do you say Thanks for giving best response to you? yes bec. that is the only way to giving them thanks for what they give you there service. and now a days sayings thank you is none now.and that value is lost now. but it that word should not be gone.and that value should teach the younger ones to keep it to the next generation.

Yes, the word thanks means a lot, It really valuable.

I generally thank the discussion starter if he has given me a best response. I think more than anything it is just a heart felt thanks that he chose my discussion as the best response. Usually I will also add a few lines to wrap up the discussion. But so far I have not seen mylot take any offense to such a comment.

Yes, its better to add few lines with thanks.
And no offense should be taken even if just a 'thanks' is given, because he/she got the "best response" for that discussion, so taking action against the person is not an acceptable thing.

yes several time my response awarded as best response, on that time i reciprocate to the person who awarded me my response as best response with thanks,but since long time neither i have selected best response nor my response selected as best response,that is the sad thing since long time,recently i wish to select a best response one of my discussion,after that i have forgotten which discussion is that one,have a nice day

thanks for the response, i not worrying about the best response award, i does not think that my responses does not have that much stuff to get the award, i am an average person and does not have good commond in English,so how can i write good responses for discussions,any how once again thanks for the response,have a nice day

you can't simply neglect or avoid yourself from getting Best response, You might be not well in one topic, but in another you may do better.
And English, I am also not good in it, it will get improved day by day if you are here.
And even if you English is bad, if the discussion stater is impressed or satisfied with your response, you may get BR.

I think many here doesn't resolve the discussion soon, and later we forgot about it.
From the best response link in discussion, its easy to see the discussion you got BR.

Hi Rama, i always prefer to stop by and say thanks to the discussion starter as a way to appreciate their selection. I know it is not easy to select as which one respond is suitable to be given the "Best Response". In fact, until now there are a few discussions which i am still haven't able to select the "Best Response", since most of the responds that i had received are very interesting. Still finding time to check through those discussions and going to give the deserve person the title soon.

Yes, its difficult to select a good one. We may got confused to select it. In this discussion also I may face it...
I don't like to leave my discussions unresolved, so some how I resolves it by giving Best Response to the one who seems to me the best that time.

hi
i do get best responses , however i did not know any time that i should say thank you, for the same.
How is the best response chosen and by whom, is it the person who starts the discussion gives the best response or else does mylot chooses it.
I really felt to thank however i did not know that it is a compulsory thing and should be done.I felt that may be it is a discussion and i should not say thank you in the discusion.
I like to thank but i never done it becox i never known that it can be done.

Best Response is chosen by the person who starts the discussion.
And its not compulsory to thank, if you wish you can do it just by commenting in the discussion.

You know, in the guidelines it say not to just say "thank you" so I do express my thanks each time, but I also make a comment about the topic as well...

yes we have to do descriptive comments, that is what mylot says.
We can express thanks and add something extra connected to the discussion, so we can say thanks and also follow mylot rules.

I do say thank you and I think everyone should. These short comments can be seen as the exception to the rule. The person has already left a "real" comment and is merely being gracious and courteous toward the person who has chosen them as the best.

Yes, here even if its a single word, it cannot be taken in negative aspect.
The real comment has already done and it got selected as Best Response , So its the best. I think Mylot won't take actions for this.

I always do to acknowledge the giver.
But, now seldom I may say thank you to every best responses that I received.
It is because I lost email notofication from mylot for almost two years due to glitch.
It is also hard for me to go back to old discussion that I've responded.
It's not easy scanning through responded topics what more with best response that I receive (if there is)
So, I am guilty of not acknowledging it ...

Don't worry acknowledgement is not a must.
And i don't have the habit of acknowledging for best response and surely it is not easy to go through all the old discussion we have responded..

I don't usually respond, but reading the other comments, it seems I am one of few. I do appreciate it, but the reason I don't is because of the rule that you shouldn't just say thanks in a response. I don't always have something else to say, and therefore don't say thanks. The one comment about sending a PM is probably a good idea.

Ya, sometime me too faces the same problem.
I just not like to say a simple thanks due to mylot regulations and nothing else to continue the comment.

I try to keep it on-topic, at the very least saying 'I am glad you appreciate my advice; now what will you do with the advice?'
I'll also sometimes give a short answer (a smiley of some sort) in my own discussions in order to change the 'last response by'-indicator (in my discussion-lists) to 'mythociate'---indicate that there's no responses I haven't read and/or replied-to.
(Although I usually try to continue the discussion with every reply--responding with my feelings on their response and asking questions to clarify the responders' points--sometimes it feels 'right' just to give them a 'Whatever ... anyway ...'-response and end that thread

Hello rama,
I always do that whenever I get a best response.I know how much I feel good when I get it and why should I not say thank you to the person who gave me that feeling.Yes Mylot don't suggest to write such comments but may be they consider it but that's for sure they don't pay us for such comments or responses.

Yes, its really good feeling and we will be certainly happy if best response is received. So we will have the tendency to give a thanks.
And mylot may not pay for it, but I think we can do it.

Mylot always suggests the discussion to be more descriptive and it doesnt mean that saying thanks is an offence. But it would be better to add some more lines with thanks to make the comment descriptive. And many here say thanks for the best response. When someone choose our response as best response surely we will be delighted. And when we say thanks the discussion starter will also be happy.

just keeping thanks comment is an offense to mylot rule, so try to add something more to it.

I probably would if I ever got best response and if I was on the site at the time anyway. I wouldn't worry about it otherwise.
