I missed going to a buffet, eat all you can, restaurant!

I finally went to an eat all you can asian resto with my nephew. I prepared my stomach for this most awaited event. I am very good at buffets coz I really could eat more than what I paid for. I can normally finish 5 to 6 plates and then another 3 to 4 servings of dessert. I was confident that I was ready for this as I was with my nephew who is only 16 and should be as voracious eater as I am. But it was a disappointment. I just ate around 3 plates, not even full servings. Two more servings of dessert but mostly fruits. I then kept cheering for my companion to keep going back for more but he eventually stopped at only 4 plates. We ended up staring at people passing by and couldn't even think of what to talk about. We were just too full to even open our mouths to talk or our brains were just too full of sugar and spices. It was too hot, almost 2 in the afternoon and we were beginning to get really tired and sleepy, so we went home and just watched dvds.

We went to a Taiwanese restaurant that served mostly Chinese food. Eating in buffets once in a while is just good. I did it a lot before and then stopped for almost a year. Now, I just couldn't push myself anymore to eat as much as I could.:)

i wish i could enjoy buffet too like you do. That's frustration for me for whenever i see plenty of food around i easily felt full. A plate full of food would almost choked me if i try to consume everything. Hence I felt shortchanged of the priced I pay in a buffet. A la carte would be more practical for me.

I feel the same way. I would be real hungry but once I take a look at all that food, my stomach just get full. I think the Buffet owners know this:)

I am not really that good of an eater so going to eat all you can buffet is not my thing. But there is this place where I usually go and visit when I am in the area... The "eat all you crabs buffet". The price is a little bit high but very reasonable. After all, I love crabs and in our places it is very expensive. So when I visit this place, I always see to it that I go to this restaurant offering eat all you crabs.

In my college years, we use to hang-out with my friends in a pizza parlor to divulge their eat all you can promotion. For a teenagers like us, we could easily eat two family size pizza in just an hour. Its because, the the offer only last an hour too. But for us that is enough to fill our stomach more than what we had payed. Now, i cannot even finish to eat 4 slices of pizza in a single settings. And now, that I have my own money, I can't even go to places where they offer and eat all you can buffet. Simply because I can no longer consume more than what the price tag is.

Oh my, I really must stay out of that kind of restaurants. As I'm (still) trying to reduce my weight I can't go to all you can eat buffet, because I will loose my control especially y in dessert area. I will loose the battle with my appetite and feel sorry for the whole week.

I am very envy to you and it seems you had a great day in buffet restaurant. Its been a long time that I dont eat in a eat-all-you-can resto since my husband and I are on diet and both busy with our work. I miss our favorite asian buffet restaurant and hoping that I can be there too by next month when we have enough time.

Fantasy does not match reality. I don't like to eat like that, because I only eat a little. I definitely lost due to pay more.

Its been awhile since I've been to a buffet of any kind. I used to love the ones at Atlantic City, they had some yummy food. Sometimes I would feel sick after eating the cheesecake for dessert but my friend said it was cause I drank milk with it. Ha. I would love to go back though and try their fruit pizza and other goodies for dessert, plus they had some good other food too that I just can't remember now. Its been years! I would never try to eat more than a few servings of food and a few servings of dessert, my stomach is just not capable of that. I would be on the floor in pain.

I haven't been to an all you can eat in a very long time, and I would love to go. I feel though my experience will be the same as yours though and no matter how hungry I will go, I wont be able to eat more than a couple of plates, just like if I was at any restaurant.
