My husband is gone during the summer months and I do not sleep well at all! This makes me into a walking zombie during the day and I don't get as many things accomplished as I would like. I can fall asleep on the couch but when I get up to go to bed I am wide awake. Does it happen to you? I need suggestions and ideas on how to fall asleep and stay asleep. I do not want to resort to taking sleeping pills. Someone has got to have a better or new idea that can work for me. Can anybody help me? I am soooo tired.

Exercise usually works for me when I have sleeping problems, you can try brisk walking or jogging a few blocks everyday or every other day. I prefer this than going to the gym or using a home exercise equipment, it gives me a "fresher" view on things too. :)

I used to be bad like that when I was in high school. I could never sleep in the night time but at school I would be extremely exhausted and sometimes ended up falling asleep in class. I dont' know why it happened or how it stopped - but luckily it did!

Hello glowiness and welcome to my lot. I have a small fan that I keep on all night. It helps by keeping a consistent noise like white noise. It covers all the sounds around me that will keep me awake. Along with that I usually do some reading for about twenty or thirty minutes. This helps me to start relaxing. Then I do my multiplication. I start out with one times one and before I can get to the twos I am asleep. I rarely go beyond the twos.

I would suggest maybe investing in some hot teas that are made to help you sleep. This may help a bit to relax you so that you will sleep. If it's just that you are alone in the house, maybe turning on a fan or music / tv will help as well. Drinkign warm milk as one person suggested, some it works for, some it doesn't.

That happened to me a few months ago when my boyfriend first left for the army. Falling asleep at night was really hard for me and I'd constantly wake up. I was getting really stressed because I missed him and we weren't able to talk to each other. But after a while, it got easier for me to fall asleep and I wouldn't have to stay up late watching tv and trying to fall asleep. I think what helped was the fact that I'd have dreams about my boyfriend and it felt like he was really there and eventually I looked forward to going to sleep so I could see him in my dreams

That is bad for you. You must sleep well. I am a late sleeper but I make sure I sleep enough. If I don't get sleep, I try to read some books. It makes me fall asleep and another thing I want to tell you is, don't sleep on the sofa or couch, go straight on the bed and read some magazine or book. I am sure you will fall asleep.
