What is the definition of good music?

I think the definition of good music is the passion some bands/artist put into their work. For example : Freddie Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody on his own and it is still the number one hit in The Netherlands. That song is perfect in many ways. The guitar riffs, the bass parts, drum solos and ofcourse the magical voice of Freddie himself. Another song I got is the song of Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing. That song is perfect live. The AMAZING guitar parts and the bass, drums, piano ofcourse. The speed of the song is just perfect and the finger work on the guitars are absolutely perfect! If you don't know this song, you must search for it on Youtube. Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing (Alchemy Live) It is 10 minutes long, epicness!
So what is your definition of good music?

For me good music are those that contain meaningful and upbeat lyrics, the wording reflect true human emotional and inner soul feeling, sing in concerted with different smooth background musical instruments that produce bass, beat and melody to create a harmonial synergy to the listeners; especially those that put me to sleep soundly and quickly after half or an hour.

I assume it all depend on how well all those instrumentals are scripted and noted with each others to produce a smooth and harmonial melody and chorus. A singer play an important role if the symphony of instrumental doesn't produce mellow feel to the listener, then a singer with upbeat lyrics can enhance our listening sense to supplement its own inadequency. In this case, a singer is an important role.

To me,good music means a lot to me.Live alone and feel lonely,it definitely plays very important role in my life.Everytime i put earphone in my ear,no matter what happens,though i'm not professional about music,i feel it's a wonderful world to me.Thanks a lot for share.

I think that good music comes from the basics of music. The blues and such brought on rock and there is good music in both. I like Green Onions myself and I don't know who originated it. Love to listen to it. ANd I adore Santana. Now that is good music. I haven't heard one tune Santana has done that isn't great. Good music is a sound that resinates in a person who appreciates music's very soul. If it is enjoyable it has to be good. lol

It is very difficult to give the defination of good music but music is helpful for me when I was in sad mood because after hearing some old songs I forgeted my stress. I like Lata Mangeshkar and Kishor kumar songs.

For me, good music is something that would make me feel better and relaxed. Whether it is jazz or blues, good music certainly makes me feel better and relaxed.
