I have to change my appointment!

I got a call with the specialist for the iron. They booked it Monday at 205pm, its about 45 minutes there, and 45 minutes back, plus the time of the appointment. I wouldnt make it back for work in the afternoon. I know they wouldnt allow me to take time off, I asked when I got hired for a doctors appointment and they made a big deal about it, and about covering it, I ended up coming in. I work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday with that job, whereas my other job is more understanding (which it should be done before then). So I will change it, and hopefully it works out. The appointment isnt until the 15th of October.

I wouldn't cancel it just yet. I'd talk to your new job and TELL them you have it on October 15th as if you tell them now, have it written out and handed to them that gives them PLENTY of time. You shouldn't have to change an appointment that far in the future.

I phoned the specialiast today, they called back while at work, so I will call them again tomorrow. They seem fine with changing it, I would assume since they just made it, not that its tomorrow deal. But I think my physical is on that day as well so I will have to rebook that as well. The job will make a big deal about it, and that Im have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off with them that I can make it then.

Thank you! This specialist appointment is for iron transfusion. Hopefully, they bring up my iron levels.

i hate having to cancel appointments with specialists because you then have to wait so long to see them again.

I agree, it took about a month to get an appointment. But the appointment isnt until October 15th. But I realized my physical may be on this day so I may have to call and ask to change it. Sucks getting a new job, and having to change everything for it. But I need the money as well. I called and left a mesage for the specialst and waiting for a call back. I may be able to get it changed easier and faster since I havent waited its only been a few days since they set it.

I actually wouldn't have changed the appointment that you had because you had the appointment scheduled before you had the job. Because of that, the employer should have been able to schedule around the appointment that you needed to go to. In addition to that, if you are not in good health, then you are really not able to work, so you wouldn't be doing any good to the employer if you are not able to work at all. I will never understand how there can be some employers that are so ruthless when it comes to understanding our health.
