I can't imagine living in such a way where you're constantly being evicted from where you live, it would be hard to call anywhere "home". I have people in my life who haven't just been evicted once or twice, it's a common occurance and I don't know whether or not to feel sorry for them. Eviction rules would be different from country to country, have you ever been evicted? Do you feel it was for a fair reason? Is there anything unusal with the eviction laws where you live? Thanks for commenting.

You really have strict eviction rules in your country. I never heard someone around me were evicted . I know only the foreigners here , if they break our laws, they will be evicted and not allowed to stay here any more. Have a nice day!

I was evicted from a house 40+ years ago. When I rented the first floor the landlord stipulated no pets. His wife did not like animals. They didn't even live there. They lived about 10-15 blocks away. But it was still their house. In all the time I lived there they never once came over for any reason. There was no need to. Anyway, I was fine with that. After a few years my son (5 at the time) found a cat outside and brought it in. It was pregnant. I kept it, found homes for the kittens and then the (nice) people upstairs moved and the ogres moved in. The first thing they did was go screaming to the landlord about the cat. Yep. I got evicted. I moved but I kept the cat. That's my eviction story.

That's a sad eviction story. Here in Ontario Canada, even if the tenancy agreement says you agree to not having pets, they cannot evict you for having one. For the longest time I did not know this and had a hard time finding an apartment because of my dog, if only I knew my rights at that time!

It's actually pretty hard to evict someone here. They have to have not paid in quite a while, etc. Still, I know people who have been evicted multiple times. I haven't ever been, luckily. I know sometimes it can be the landlord's issue.

I have never been evicted from a place, not like what you mean. I've never lived anywhere wherein I've had to sign a contract, a formal formal contract. I've always lived with friends or family. I don't think I'd ever want to put myself in a situation where I would be evicted from a place. It's sad that people put themselves in that situation. I think once someone struggles with rent (if that is it) then they should be looking for another place to live either with friends, family, or a cheaper place. Not just keep struggling to pay rent in a place that all it's going to do is bring stress. Now that's saying that that is the reason for a person being evicted. There are several other reasons.

I've never been evicted. Last year, I evicted myself (lol, if that's even possible). I learned that the apartment I was renting got robbed all the time because the landlord lets his caretaker bring non-residents into the place. When the next door neighbor was robbed in the middle of the night, I told myself it's time to get out of there. I wasn't able to recover my deposit. Oh well...Better be safe than sorry, I guess.
