When you move from one place to another do you make sure the place you're moving from is a clean or cleaner than the day you moved in? I do, I make sure it's as clean if not cleaner than the day I moved in for two reasons: 1st it's a reflection on me good or bad whether I cleaned it up or not 2nd since I rent I want to be sure to get my deposit back. Also the place I'm moving to even though it may look clean at the time I'm looking at, it before I move in I will clean it. I'm not a germaphobic by any means and I tend to be a bit messy, however when I move to a new place I just like to be sure nothing was left behind that I can't see. Especially in the bathroom and kitchen. So lotters what's your thoughts on this. Looking forward to reading your comments.

hi, when we move out in a house we usually never clean it and we will let the next people to clean that, because every time we move in a house its a dirty and not really nice ready to use,so we will clean first the house that we are going to move and not the left one.

don't you feel that's a reflextion on you that you don't clean the place you move out of. when you move into a new place and have to clean it because the previous tentant didn't, do you not get the impression that they really don't care about themselves and what slobs. just asking

I used to clean the things I used in a certain area, like hotels, motels, or inn. It reflects how untidy you are if you don't clean up the mess. Same thing if you are going to move out from the rented places.

I try to clean as well as I can, but I'm not very good at it and moving time is rushed. But I do clean the place I am moving out of and the place I am moving in to.

I'm the same way. I tend to clean the place before and after I leave. I want to make sure no germs are left for me and my family and the only way to know that for sure is to clean it. Than after I clean it again to one get my full security deposit back and it's always a great feeling when the person comes to check it over and says "wow this looks better than the day you moved in." So nothing wrong with having that and a positive reference if I should ever need it. I even go as far to wash down the walls so it looks smells really clean and fresh. I guess that's the only COD part of me.

Hello my friend violann Ji, Well, your views are very nice, but we both (myself and my hubby), being in scouting/Guiding at out teen age, learnt one more point beyound your boundaries to tahnk taht place where we lived even for short time for our hike as a token of love and belonging. We have left our rented accomodation in 1998, but even after this much time, our Land Lord and we have family relations. Let's maintain them as good tanent and as a social dwellars. May God bless You and have a great time

Yes especially where I live they have a requirement that when you vacate the premises, it should be repainted and everything broken replaced or the cleaning bill will be deducted from the deposit. I also have a problem of leaving my fifth behind, so it is a must to do a thorough cleaning and dispose off anything else that I will not be carrying after I Have packed up my belongings.

I do the same thing, granted the house my parents are renovating was in a mess, it had been unused for a couple of years and it still needs a lot of work, so it really needed a clean. The thing is even when not moving when summer comes, I like giving the house a once over, washing all the curtains, linens, carpets etc because since the sun is out everything dries properly and I love how the house smells.

I, too, like to be sure that the place I am moving from is very clean. It doesn't have to be spotless, but definitely has to be very clean. I agree with what you have stated, completely! Have a great day!

Hi Violann, You are very right. I also do the same thing as you do it. Because if I like that people should keep the place clean, then I have the responsibly to keep the place clean for others as well. Have a very nice day.

I haven't had to go through this yet but I totally would. I wouldn't want to go to my new place and it look a total mess, so why would I leave it like that for someone else? It's just something that should be done.
